Excellent video, spot on. Did mine today on ramps in a garage and I found your video extremely helpfull. I would suggest removing the airbox if the vehicle is not on a hoist, it was much easier doing some of the bolts from above rather than from the creeper.

I could not have fixed my wife's Dodge Journey without your help. I replaced the neutral safety switch, and It turned out to be a bad starter. I did a video on how to replace the neutral safety switch. But the starter video was very helpful.

Thank you so much for doing this video. Although my girlfriends is a 2013 not a 2010 it was basically the same. I've never had to change a starter on a sideways motor before, so I was in the dark doin this. I had no idea whatsoever. Your video not only saved me about $400 in labor but it also gave me knowledge on working on her Dodge Journey. I really appreciate you taking the time to do this step by step. Hey Todd awesome video My Guy I just installed the starter on my wife 2009 Journey the only extra step I took was removing that sensor that runs into the heat shield you mentioned that gave me my extra space without removing the heat shield itself now after reinstalling the car starts up like a brand new Dodge Journey again. do you necessarily have to remove that bracket going across the mount underneath or can you remove starter with it on?

Why is the lid off the tipms? How come you take off the ground? It comes off at the starter anyway. Very helpfull video though thankyou . can you tell me how can I test the starter once I have It Off? Thank you for whatever input you might have. I've had this Dodge Journey for 3 years now. I am convinced it is haunted.😆

Yes, the plate on the front of the starter, that you see at about the 10 minute mark, should go back on.

I was able to get off without going under the car. I had the take the throttle body off to get it out.

Please God, let my problem be my battery ( which is hard enough to get to itself ), and not the starter. It's going to be hell trying to get to all of that, with only about 2 feet of clearance.

I've been having problems with mind turning over really slow and now it won't even turn over at all and I thought it was the battery too. Nope . after some extensive testing now I guess I will be replacing the starter.

Probably the worst 3 work hours of my life. Make sure the big washer for the 3 starter bolts doesn't have the slightest bend in it or it will rub against the fly wheel.
