TL-DR: TF2 is a huge pain in the valves ass.
This video is about the effects #fixtf2 movement on valve as a company, including their game selling platform steam. The backlash created from this silly hat simulator might hurt valve even more than they initially expected. Mainly the newest shiny toy of valve: Deadlock - is in big trouble when it comes to trusting it's developers to do their job as a developer. By watching what is happening to Team Fortress 2 and Counter Stroke 2 it's easy to assume valve has ADHD, and no longer are they driven by passion, but now a different word starting with the same letter - penny. People who are already a fan of games valve makes would be most likely to play a new valve game. If Valve were to just ignore a game with such a large player base as TF2, people would not trust them to do a good job with Deadlock. Deadlock is a combination of a moba (Dota 2) and a hero/class based shooter (TF2). From what I know, Valve has done a good job with Dota 2 for the past few years, unlike TF2. Valve needs to keep the trust of players, so the players are willing to try out their new game.

This argument makes a lot of sense, if they release the new game and literally the first article is: "how long will it be until this masterpiece has more mold and trolls, like in their old game TF2 or a newer product like CS2?" Maybe that would make Valve maybe not want to make any more games as a company and then the GAME DEBELOPER in staff migth say good ridaces to the company, a bad move in general.

I know that this comment will be slightly out of topic, but i really liked those 2 Deep rock galactic videos of yours discussing on the anti toxic system and rock and stone. And while we're on the subject of companies, GSG handled that trust pretty well with not rushing you to finish seasons and battle passes, and actually constantly listening to the community

I know this response is off topic, but Deep Rock devs are what I'd call anti meta. They do stuff that players want, and those stuff usually mean its not profitable, because they make their money on game sales itself, and the OPTIONAL supporter packs. They treat DRG like an onlyfans account, no running ads on it, they only give you an option to pay for some exclusive stuff every now and then, but the entire content of the channel once you get access to it with the innitial fee is completely free. I will touch upon DRG in one of my later videos I have planned, stay tuned :^)

Community made maps being added in updates isn't an indication of Valve stepping away from CS2 whatsoever. Thinking Valve will abandon their cash cow and let CS2s economy die because they have added community-made maps in the latest update is delusion. Do me a favor and go look at how many maps currently and historically in Counter-Strike's map pool have been made by the community.

Honestly with how things are looking so far, even if you ignore the utterly terrible situation TF2 is in and where CS is heading, Deadlock ain't looking great either, there's already cheating clients for Deadlock _and it hasn't even released yet_ with Valve's corporate ADHD only getting worse. If it releases I ain't supporting it with my hard earned money either, not like it's a unique game or anything.

i do understand the point, yes. but you do know how valve as a company operates right? they usually work on what they want to there. tf2 is still alive not just because of the community, but also because of the passion of that one particular person has working on it. oh yea and the part timer lol.

@@HeySimply that may be the case. i need to research this more. there is this youtuber (TylerMcVicker) who studies valve and has a few insiders there. he usually refers to the way they are structured as a company in this way. you could also be talking about the half life alyx situation where they had to transition to a regular practice because they were way too slow. but again i do not know if they kept the standard system or if it was temporary.

I’ve been boycott Val for the since May 26 And since that what it is, Val is a complete failure company actually, I say it right there why because they don’t accept what we want they don’t put half-life three they lie they don’t want to make tf2 content anymore there lazy because there want to do there own task ect.
