The reason for the FJ's demise is simple: Toyota's jumping into "global climate warming change" marketing with both feet, and if there ever is another FJ, it'll be a hybrid or pure electric. (edit: they refuse to sell a 16-20 mpg small SUV because of the extremely fashionable CO2 delusion, which will take decades to pass). This means that current 4-liter FJs, especially the 6 speeds with the Torsen center diff and full-time 4WD, are gonna spike like mad. Maybe not Land Cruiser Defender mad, but you get the idea.

Toyota is one of the few major automakers that has not fully bought into the EV climate change bunk. They have their hands in all variants of power units for automobiles. Look out for hydrogen burning ICE's in the near future.

Always enjoy your videos.. With that being said, my favorite has always been the 6 speed manual on this platform. Because of the Full Time 4WD. Being manual, is the icing on the cake.

I ordered my FJ TRD in 2006. She has only 36k original miles & has always slept in the garage. She is such a unique vehicle, nothing else like it.

Sold my 07 6 speed w 321000 miles 2 months ago..Great truck! Next 1 will be automatic ..Everything I own seems to be manual lol..Driving the 6 speed was fun but I think automatic is where it will be next time! Thanks again for all your videos for the info I didnt know on my truck and super helpful for my KZbin videos!

i have both manual and automatic 2013 trail teams, the manual def feels like it’s geared better as far as power, but i’m getting older so i gave my son the manual

I just bought mine. This is my first car and I love it to pieces. They retain their value really well and will probably will start gaining value in the near future. I honestly view it as an investment. But I will never sell this thing unless I have to. Now I just need to modify it...

I love my “Tonka toy” FJ. But, its deffect is mainly its blind spot and premium gas requirement with low mileage per galon

Love my 2014. I’m 70 and can say it’s my fav vehicle along with my 93 Land Cruiser. Can’t decide if I should change tranny fluid since I have 80, 000 miles.

I would if you're using it for towing or doing other demanding things on your transmission. Never a bad idea to do a flush. I just opened the drain and whatever amount came out is what I added back in with new ATF.

I know this will happen, I was planning to buy a bnew unit last 2015 but slided in 2021 and was 3KUSD more expensive (here in the Philippines) due to its growing demand. But no regrets... I got an icon for keeps #solidfjfan #retirementcar
