Great that you decided to replace the whole fender!!. It was a pity to cut all the new one!!!!

Looking good! I’ve been following this build . I have a 73 I need to replace the passenger side quarter panel on due to hitting a tree. No rust to deal with. Thankfully! Keep up the good work and the videos

that looked like a perfectly fine wheelhouse you cut! I believe there are spot welds that connect it to the quarter panel.

Good timing! I’m getting close to what you’re doing. Unfortunately you make it look easy! Nice job as always. Who did you end up using for the sheet-metal?

I’m surprised as to how little rust the body has considering its age.

I’m not sure what you mean. I sometimes have them sand blasted locally if that’s what you’re asking.

I would cross brace the driver and passenger side before you tackle that rear sill. If not the sides will flop out. CCOT has pics on their site.

+1. that tub doesnt have near enough braces on it for the amount of cutting and previous rot it has...even more so being off the frame sitting on a cart. more across the tub and the front door openings need braced from the B post to the A post.

Yeah, excellent point - especially when he cuts the rockers loose - the A and B posts will be flopping around in space like a wet lasagna noodle... bracing is key. Also, would also tack the thing together with a few strategic welds here and there until you can bolt it back to frame and fit the doors. Once you have doors fitted and working then get down to some serious welding w/o worry. Guessing he already planned to do this but doesn't hurt to throw it out there... I did a bunch of similar work on my '66 Bronco back in the mid 1980's and wished someone would have given some advise.

Lol, I was going to make the same recommendation. I had to replace the rear sill on mine a number of years ago. Mine is made out of a 2”x2” 1/4” wall square tube with a new piece of sheet metal skin over it. Wanted it to be stout and sealed to keep mud etc. out of it. Bracing is super important to keep things square. I used some flat strap and utilized the rear door hinge mount bolt holes.
