Enraged Bazel does sooo much damage on large monsters, the Rajang fight was impressive but it really didn't do it justice. Respect to Espinas tho, both deserve to be Santa.

I think what gave rajang the advantage in that fight was that seething needs to attack to spread his scales, and since rajang is so fast seething doesn't have many opportunities to do so

Espinas made the mistake of pinning Bazel in a corner & getting hit by every single one of his bombs. That was the turning point of the match. Bazel did so much damage. Espinas forgot the golden lesson many hunters have had to learn: Don't Get Stuck In A Corner With Bazel, You Will Die

Funny enough, that's what won him the fight against Magnamalo. After the staggerlock Espinas pulled off in their fight, Mag almost evened it back up, but Espi pinned him in the corner.

You know, it's kinda fitting to have the finale for Christmas because both monsters come bearing gifts. They are both of the explosive variety though, so I wouldn't recommend getting too close. I think I'm just gonna get myself triple carted by Flaming right now because getting blown up by him is the greatest gift he can give me... Well, the best would be for him to be my best buddy, but this ain't Stories so that is unfortunately an impossible task for now.

Moves learned from level ups too because that made monsters feel a lot more unique since they would learn moves that are exclusive to them only. I would probably end up making a full frontier team, because there's just so many cool monsters to choose from there, as well as my boy Espinas.

I'm so glad that this tournment hasn't ended up like the previous one: with a disastrous finale that ruined all the other fights. I've been cheering for Espinas at every single one of his matches, but, even though he lost, all the fights were so good that the final result doesn't even matter to me. Yeah you have to blow up both the head and the tail to prevent him doing the nuke at the end of his enrage, blowing up only one will just cause the bombs in the nuke to be normal instead of blue. Afflicted seething however can't have his head or tail blown up and you have to do the afflicted topple to get him out of rage mode

What a glorious battle and I’m finally glad to see my top favorite monsters finally meet. While I was rooting for my og boi espinas deep down ya just know bagel man had what it took to pull through but I’m definitely proud of both of them for making it to the finals. Good thing they didn’t add the rare species or zenith of espinas I don’t think bagel man would fare to well against them, now we need a rare species bazel to contend lol. It’s also a shame Deviljho wasn’t here to join in on this tournament to test itself against the newcomers and old rivals. Either way while seething bazel took the win both he and flaming espinas are winners in my book as underdogs. Now we gotta test seething against scorned, apex monsters, teostra for a rematch, CG Valstrax and risen elders to test his true might. Merrrrr Christmas everyone or in this case Nukesmas!!!!

Espinas strategy is to overwhelm its enemies with accurate attacks, and he kinda tried to do so in a part of the video... the problem is Bazelgeuse's defensive strat. Every time Espinas approached, the bombs interrupted him and dealt massive damage. It was an espectacular final, well deserved victory.

What wins Bazel these fights is that he's great at preventing the opponent from getting momentum. It's very hard for other monsters to just bully him because even if they land a hit, the bombs then stagger them, which ends up giving Bazel an animation advantage and allowing him to counterattack. He can't combo as well as Rajang or Espinas, but the bombs act as both an offensive AND defensive tool, preventing monsters from just wailing on him while allowing him to still deal big damage without needing to get in many successful attacks.

Good fight. In part, the reason for the defeat is that Espinas did not use a triple attack with a run, + poison and burning rarely worked. + I thought Espinas would be run to avoid bombs by running, but that didn't always work. Espinas won the first half of the fight, but after something went wrong and he huddled in a corner. Anyway, Bazelgeuse was cool too.

This fight was so close! Espinas might have had bigger explosions, but Bazel proved that bigger isn't always better. His smaller explosions just drained the health of Espinas so quickly and was able to interrupt his attacks many times. The nukes did do a lot of damage, but an enraged Bazel just causes so many explosions that there's not a lot of room but to get blown up.

Oh yeah,what an explosive Merry Christmas we got!!! Bazel has that little advantage over other monsters in that,if he manages to drop 3 or 4 scales before getting hit,it has an almost garantized stun lock for it's rival. An great ending for a great tournament. Also,I find funny how, when Seething is enraged and drops a lot of blue scales, Flaming continues hitting and bashing like he doesn't care but then gets hit by like seven explosions and immediatly regrets it🤣

@Piero Pittaluga Yeah these two put on quite a show. Flaiming Espinas almost stole it at one point with a big lead, but those damn explosive scales can rack up damage quick. I think at the end of the day the strongest monster won it and that's all that matters.

I just realized that Flaming didn't miss any nuke and still lost by more than 2k hp, that's insane compared to the fight with Scorned where it missed several and still won by a large margin, guess Seething is just built different.

I think like many have said; the fight was more in favour of seething due to the matchup and its fighting style that seems better against larger target. Smaller and faster targets like rajang seems a better matchup against seething.

It really can't be overstated how unfair Bazel's bombs are for the other monsters. It's like he's playing a totally different game. Interrupt his attack? Take 400 damage from bombs anyway. Dodge the attack? Too bad, you just ran into the bombs. I just imagine the other monsters pounding their keyboards and screaming "HAX! HAX!"

...right, but the bombs actually effectively increase his attack speed. Besides, it doesn't matter if he's slow if his attacks throw out scales that still do more damage than most monster attacks even if he gets interrupted. Plus, they can blight. His bombs are an insane advantage, no matter how you slice it. They are, unsurprisingly, designed to fight a hunter, and we can really only ever get hit by one at a time. But most monsters can get hit by multiple scales at a time.

Of the current elder levels included in 5th Gen*, Bazelgeuse is the only one who does not have an in-game turf war with an elder dragon. Who would you wish to make an opponent for it to rectify this? *Excluding Leshen, on account of classification technically making it viable for being labelled an elder dragon.

Velkhana neutralizing bazel's bombs by freezing them and getting the upper hand, only for a exterior explosion to cause a huge chain reaction and blowing up all the ice with velkhana.

one thing i noticed is that seething doesnt have his ground slide in rise...in iceborne he uses his wing claws to fling himself sliding along the floor towards you...i spose as a similar move for jho's body throw and rajangs 360 no scope spin...but it looks like rise didnt use that and instead kept most of his base bazel rams and headbutts and gave him that new super head bang? the one where he throws his face into the floor as like a mini super move

If the bombs didn't keep on breaking spinas' combos the fight would have been even closer than it already was. You should do a losers' match between jang and malo

@Abel, totally not DNS client or spaghetti those pesky bombs really disrupt that flow of the opponents combos; making him such a formidable foe. As for the magna vs jang fight; that will come later on; but not in the form of a tournament, so we can see who deserves that 3rd place spot.

Large monsters all lose to Seething Bazelgeuse, because take damage from all nukes..which are unstoppable, unlike physical attacks. In fact the only one who came close to defeating Seething Bazel was Furious Rajang who is small. Now i want to see: Furious Rajang vs Flaming Espinas and I'm sure Furious wins. Furious Rajang vs Scorned Magnamalo is hard..

@Gabriele Marini you make a good point, but there are some exceptions. Like violet mizu or potentially risen elders; which all do have high DPS. Both fights are due to come out some time next year
