Stanley actually dies a lot now that you mention it, like that one ending last episode where the player did an "actually incorrect" choice. spoilers (for Oliver at least): it's actually one of the biggest mysteries in the community, leaving the people who are desperatly (and hopelessly) trying to figure out the lore puzzled, and thus it shows up in almost every lore/story video of the game

@tritonis54Ай бұрын
@@Yorrick624Thing is, it’s not a mystery because it doesn’t mean anything. That’s kind of the point of the game : it always pretend to make sense, have secrets and deep meaning while constantly contradicting itself and putting jokes were you don’t expect. It’s the commentary on games and their choices being intrinsically fake, since they only exist in the confines of the story.
@ChurahmАй бұрын
same wtf. I've played this game quite a bit and never noticed that... creepy af
@shibainu2528Ай бұрын
I like how when you derail the story enough, the Narrator suddenly starts talking to Stanley (and by extension, you, the player) directly instead of "talking" to him in third person. Like, "Stanley walked through the door on his left" compared to "Are you... still in the broom closet? Why!?" Edit : Also, here's a fun fact since Oliver found the nuclear ending. The song that plays after you hit the "On" button, according to KZbin videos I have found, lasts approximately 4 minutes and 27 seconds. I was going to mention how you hear bombs after the 2 minute timer *would* have ended, before Daniel added more time, but that was false information that I mixed up due to how you hear them 30 seconds before they reach your part of the building.
@axeldewater9491Ай бұрын
Could you elaborate what you tried to explain in the last part. Didn't quite understand you there.
@shibainu2528Ай бұрын
@@axeldewater9491 I thought I remembered seeing a comment somewhere where it went "After 2 minutes, you start hearing explosions, but after another 1:30 or so, those explosions reach your part of the building where the timer finally hits zero" Because you were originally given 2 minutes, until the narrator added more time to the clock at 42:43 (80 more seconds to be exact). Of course, this comment doesn't exist and I just made the fact up in my head, which I only realized when going back into the video and seeing that the bombs start at the last 30 seconds, way past when the 2 minute timer would have ended.

Oh man this is great! I hope Oliver ends up being a bit more thorough than some other LP's of this I've seen. I mean I doubt it's possible to actually see every ending on a blind playthrough just cause there are some things a person might never think to try or you have to find almost by accident, (I've seen a few where the person just never thought to jump off the platform onto the catwalk) but it would be nice if he doesn't just get like 15-20% of the endings and then decide that he's seen everything. Looking at past LP's of his though I'm not too worried about that!

The interplay between the Narrator and the Line is kind of neat, if you follow at full speed. Otherwise they're just kind of separately meandering. But I'm sure trying to come up with a way to stage that particular voiceover to match progress along the hall would have been a mess.

Stanley scrolled through the list of comments, diligently reading every single one, except for this one. He did not read this comment at all, because he knew, deep down, that reading this comment would knock over a tiny, imperceptible domino, the first domino in an impossibly long, impossibly complicated series of dominos, dominos that cascaded across all of space and time, and spiraled through the vast calculus of the universe, and at the end of which lied a grand reveal, with incontrovertible evidence, that Stanley was a stinky butthead, and that he smelled bad, and that everyone would point and laugh at his big stinky butt.
