First time posting Adrienne. Love your show. Ok now I’m going to say something I’m a woman of color and also gay. I am so sick of the racism and people trying to shove trans people on women’s sports. We are having college/universities that are forfeiting their volleyball games when they have to play against San Jose because that team has a trans man. I feel horrible that we women have to put up with this kind of crap! And then we are having these superstar, professional women athletes in the WNBA acting like racist little B____! They need to grow up! CC is awesome basketball player and she is the only reason why I even bother to return to watching the WNBA after 19 years of not watching it. Also racism has always been in the WNBA! Again Thank You for your show. 🇺🇸🇲🇽🇵🇹🇪🇸🇸🇳🇿🇦🏳️🌈✊🏽

Hello, Adrienne. I think that some people thought there would be racism, especially with the Angel Reese College basketball rivalry. They wanted her to fail back then. Even with CC breaking the NCAA records you could tell blacks were turning on CC then but not me. This is why I love channels like yours, the W360, and Ben Daniels because you are fair and speak the truth.
@alicialanham5024Ай бұрын
I love and enjoy Adrienne’s show and Ben Daniel’s too! I don’t know the root of every cause to “hate/envy” CC but some of it has got to be fear. The W is 75% or more African American and I think folks get concerned that it could be taken from them, or changed so much that it’s no longer a brand that AA relate to. IDK. For me, I can totally understand their fear and it’s not really unrealistic, we white folks can be just terrible people, some are down right evil. But at the same time I think we mustn’t let any potential fears destroy all progress… and personally I don’t think white folks (c)would “take over” the W but I’m probably not the best person to say. Some food for thought. I could be all wrong and way off… just thinking out loud.
@theadriennerossshowАй бұрын
@@alicialanham5024 I disagree. White folks are just there to play basketball just like anybody else. I also push back on the idea that basketball has to be a black person's place. When they start getting that territorial about black people in education, medicine, rocket science, etc., I will see it for something other than nonsense, race-baiting, pandering, "the bigotry of low expectations," and, in some cases, unnecessary white guilt.

After analyzing the comments of the Dream Co-owner, Renee Montgomery and the conversation between A’ja Wilson and Kelsey Plum, it’s starting to make sense to me. Montgomery said this is our league, and Caitlin fans are not like us. Wilson said that Buecker recognizes her white privileged. Well, what did Paige do that A’ja appreciated so much? She devoted her Espy speech to putting the Black Queens of the WNBA on a pedestal. The Black Queens of the WNBA do not like Caitlin because she refuses to get into the race conversation, and in particular, to put her contemporaries in the league on a pedestal. Caitlin does not spend her time during interviews overly praising the Black Queens of the WNBA. She has always said that she just wants to play basketball. The Black Queens want her to be their social justice warrior and promote them because they don’t feel appreciated by the sports world and the public. I think Paige will be treated far better that Clark has been during her rookie year next season because the Black Queens of the WNBA believe Paige has publicly stood up for them. However, when she plays in the WNBA she needs to get her head on a swivel because these Queens cannot be trusted.

What has happened this 6 months or so just breaks my heart. I grew cheering for Iowa State not Iowa but Caitlin caught my attention and I loved that team. I thought that she would do well as a pro but would never thought that all the racism and jealousy would be on full display in public. Caitlin did a wonderful job of lifting up her teammates and making that team work. They were fun to watch and the numbers showed that millions of others shared my opinion. But management and the veteran players ruined it. I don't see a way forward for the league as it stands now and I don't see that the leadership that is even willing to do what is required to make it work. My coach thoughts for exit interviews with the top players & the head coach would include: * CC - add a solid floater/runner, work on a postup when guarded by smaller players, add a mid-range pullup J. And take more pride in your defense. The great players are outstanding at both ends of the court. * Boston - drop 15 to 20 lbs and work on sprinting & conditioning (need to be able to run the court), add a solid 3 pt shot. Become a stretch-5 who can run the court. Steph Curry has 4 rings and not one of those teams had a post-up center. * Hull - add 10-12 lbs of muscle so you can defend both 4's, & 5's if Boston gets in foul trouble or just can't get up & down the court. * Mitchell - RE-SIGN * Fagbenle - develop a reliable 15-20' J, put on 10 lbs of muscle to help defend 4's & 5's. * Sides - send her to the GSW training camp and have her watch Steve Kerr and how he utilizes Steph Curry. The Warriors play an uptempo perimeter game which is what CC excells at. If I'm Sides I steal every play the Dubs have and incorporate them day one. If I'm the expansion Golden State Organization, I do everything in my power to get CC. That would be awesome to watch her and Steph year round making logo 3's. GO FEVER!

As for 'the face of the WNBA' I'll just say this: Would you rather have someone who every time she opens her mouth there is praise for teammates, flowers towards veteran heroes who paved the way for her, interest in uplifting women's sports financially so players can have better quality of life improvements, someone who removes fuel from fire-baiting reporters? Or somebody who every time she opens her mouth it's to diminish other players, cites white privilege as shade to uplift herself, and wants to give only little black girls hope? This is the first year I’m watching the “W” because of Caitlin Clark’s skills as a master of the game, but never have I despised a league from the players, refs, coaches and commissioner for the absolute hatred they displayed toward this girl who just wants to play the game she loves. I feel so sorry for CC because her dream as a child turned into a disappointing nightmare when reality crept in. From the snubs at her countless broken records, the Olympic team, the ROTY “phone call”, bringing the last place team for 2 years into the playoffs, having her eye gouged in the first 2 minutes of the playoffs without a call absolutely disgust me about this prison yard league and I wish Caitlin would play in Europe before she is maimed and her career is untimely ended, to the satisfaction of those thugs from the bottom to the top who would gladly fade into obscurity rather than let this white, hetero Christian girl become the face of their thug league.
