As a new carver this channel is amazing. I'm 67 years old and still amazed at what you can see on a computer. Great job John and thank you for the inspiration. Thank you to the Association as well. I look forward to the hours of enjoyment to come.

You have created an exceptional KZbin channel and organization. Thank-you for posting the live sessions as quickly as you do for people who can't make it. The carvers you have scheduled are outstanding and I look forward to the videos. Thanks for all you are doing.

You do not steal other people's ideas. You admire their work and incorporate it into your own work.

Great tutorial! Just a small tip: If you carve the face on the corner instead of straight on, it adds some dynamic to the figure instead of a static pose. I have carved a ton of compact characters using this method. Even Jack Price began doing them this way after he had seen some photos of my heads turned on the corner. Nevertheless, great flat-plane carving!

It was great to be able to see how you work and the steps and thought process behind the steps you take I’m quite new to carving but I come form being a chef so being able to hear others ideas and bring them in to my own as I work is very helpful . That was me asking about braking the knife doing roll cuts. So that was kind of wild. Huge thanks for you guys post this stuff on KZbin and having it available it’s a massive resource to have.

Great stuff John. I’ve always admired your style, and now that I watched your technique, I’m going to try to do some flat plane figures. Go Packers (from Horicon).

Great stuff. One complaint - low resolution. 720p would have been a lot nicer to look at
