FlatHead Fishing From A Busy Street! (THEY WERE BITING)

I decided to try something different and fished from a high area. I usually wade this spillway but with the water being so high this season I had to resort to other methods. In this video things actually went according to plan.. that doesn't always happen with flathead fishing. On another note I try my best not to snag my lines from this height. To do this you can have heavier main line than your leader.. say, 55lb main and 25lb leader could work.

Like the idea to make that style of net to use off a bridge! Could also clip some sinkers to the bottom of the net.

Brave man. There were many times I contemplated fiahing that spot, but I was too worried of getting in trouble. Great idea on the drop net...might have to try that sometime.

The thing with flat heads is theu dont bite and run the bite and sit for a sec so gotta wait till it moves to set the hook also circle octopus hooks is def the right right

I fish in northern Illinois also.... Have to love those clickers on those ambassadors!!!! Little extra excitement added to the night 🌙 fishing .... Our favorite spot is closed for the high water ATM, such a switch of water levels from years past, always being so low.

You will get one over 15 pounds there. Just put your time in. Once all this high water goes down. Which will probably be another week or so. The Flathead fishing there will be really good. For big Flatheads at that Dam “20+ pounds “ I do the best thereJuly, August,and early September.
