Iron Maiden is definitely a unique band. Their sound is unlike anything else is heavy metal. There is a certain element of melody and harmonization in their music that most other metal bands lack. Their songwriting is inspired mostly by literature and historical events. They were never mainstream; even in the 80's they would hardly ever get any radio or MTV airplay. Their popularity came through their live shows, (they toured so much in the 80s that most of their members didn't even have permanent homes until late in the decade) and they are one of the few bands out there that sound better live than in studio. They are an acquired taste, definitely not for everyone, yet they still managed to sell over 130 million albums over their career and to this day still sellout arenas and stadiums worldwide. If your looking for another Maiden tune to react to I suggest Rime of the Ancient Mariner from Flight 666

Steve Harris (bass) formed Iron Maiden in 1975 so that he had a band that would play the songs he was writing... British heavy rock mixed w/ prog influences and time changes (Harris' previous band found his songs 'complicated' to play live... Harris was always looking for people who could execute his vision for his songs, and he knew that Dave Murray (guitar) would be a part of Maiden when they met in 1976. When Paul Di'Anno was the vocalist of Iron Maiden (1977 to 1981)... he gave the band a punk rock edge w/ their brand of heavy metal that UK fans in the 70's loved... and that helped them build a British fanbase (where punk rock was huge in the 70's) before they were even signed in 1979... Early Maiden demos were very raw cos the band was still developing sonically w/ early songs like 'Sanctuary' ... 'Prowler' ... 'Iron Maiden'. After Paul Di'Anno left in 1981, Bruce Dickinson (vocals) took the band in a more streamlined heavy metal direction in 1982... that made Iron Maiden even more popular in the 80's as they graduated from club act to arena headliners... Steve Harris wrote most of the songs on the first 2 albums; after Adrian Smith (guitar) was added to the line-up in 1981, he brought in his songwriting and w/ Bruce Dickinson, brought in amazing songs for Iron Maiden to play. However, in the 90's decade... Iron Maiden went into decline in the US where grunge rock was taking off. Adrian Smith had left in 1989 and Bruce Dickinson left in 1993... Janick Gers (guitar) brought his energy into Maiden in 1990... but by 1995, Iron Maiden had a new vocalist Blaze Bayley and were suddenly unhip... older fans didn't like the new singer Blaze... and younger rock fans thought Iron Maiden was an "irrelevant 80's metal band"... By 1998, Iron Maiden was struggling to sell records, poorly promoted and playing clubs & small venues. In 1999, it was clear that Iron Maiden needed rejuvenation... Thankfully, both Bruce Dickinson and Adrian Smith were open to rejoining Iron Maiden and they announced a reunion tour as a 6-piece band... Ticket sales were up, but then... Iron Maiden had to prove that they could still make relevant music for the 2000's. The album 'Brave new world' in 2000 marked the return of Dickinson and Smith and it was a success... it gave Maiden a new platform to relaunch their career and introduce themselves to a new generation. They could have easily stopped making music and toured as a 'legacy' band... but Iron Maiden were the real deal. In 2003, they returned w/ the album 'Dance of Death'... and the fans still bought the record w/ enthusiasm, even though the new music was more progressive and longer than their classic records... But this was more natural for Maiden in the 2000's and their career kept rising for the next 20 years.

One of his favorite bands as well as mine because of him, he took me to see them back in 2012 which I will forever be grateful for, it's almost hard for me to listen to en vivo versions. God bless him

In his 30 years as leader of Iron Maiden, Bruce Dickinson was a rock star, fencer, filmmaker, businessman, brewmaster, broadcaster, author, cancer survivor... Furthermore, Bruce Dickinson is an airline pilot and for many For years he commanded 'Ed Force One', the aircraft that took Maiden metallers to the four corners of the world on several tours. And probably some other vocations that I have no idea about.

So it was about 2 years ago that Tom MacDonald - "Clown World" - REACTION brought me to your channel! Initially I didn't know what to think, I did not think you were real, I thought you were pranking on the whole thing, but I took a deeper dive into your stuff and you grew heavily on me. Through those 2 years I've watched you two grow so much into who you are and I love it. The biggest part is that I just celebrated 25 years of sobriety this month and I know your stories of how you got to this place today and the struggle it took and it reminds me of my own journey in life! Heavy Metal and Rock have always been my primary genre of music so watching you two take in the great Iron Maiden is such a treat to watch and experience with you. Also being Hispanic here, I gotta say I love that you throw some Spanish Verbiage unto this one! Be Blessed you two, thanx for the ride and sharing your journey with us!

Final Frontier Very Poor Album a Couple Of Good Songs The Talisman & When The Wild Wind Blows, A Matter Of Life and Death For Me The Only Song I Like Is Different World, Book Of Souls - If Eternity Should Fail, The Red and The Black and Empire Of The Clouds are The Only Tracks I Like and Senjitsu - The Writing On The Wall Is The Only Track I Like, Maiden's Last Few Albums Just Dont Impress Me, I Cant Wait For Bruce Dickinson's New Solo Album The Mandrake Project Early Next Year, Have All Bruce's Solo Albums Tyranny Of Souls Released 18 Years Ago Is a Masterpiece! Might I suggest either Exit Eden or Dan Vasc, Both do incredible covers which might guide you a little bit. Turning rock, or metal into rap is an interesting concept. While rap is not my general area of music (I am not a fan of repetitive beats, it has nothing to do with message), it would make for an interesting musical fusion. To me, metal, especially bands like Maiden are relying heavily on classical, so why not blend genre's? I'd say go for it brother, and as always UP THE IRONS!! :P

Up the irons! And i like some classic rap, like sone tupac, and sone classic-influenced rappers like Nas, now Hopsin, Trae tha truth, dax! Like that flow and delivery with good melodies/beats, I don’t like most modern music as i feel like they are lifeless with no great and a lot of dynamics, and repetitive or boring, hackneyed. So i am curious to listen to what you would do with sampling Maiden into your songs! And I didn’t listen to any work of you!
