Yeah 2chainz gets slept on because people think that he's just like a mumble rapper by his sound...but that dude is a college graduate and knows how to f****** write raps. Plus you have to remember this dude's been doing it for a long time. It was like 10 years before his big explosion on the scene, that he signed with Ludacris and DTP with his partner ( I wanna say Dolla Boi was his name?)and that shit fell through but he still ended up with a deal and a moment, a decade later. Also, if you listen to his old stuff, he pulled a 50 Cent and completely changed his style to get in the game. That guy is smart.

I forgot where but Phresher in an interview told the story of getting the call from Em and recoding the song etc. Think he basically had to come up w/ verse on the spot in the studio. He had thought he was just doing hook. Was a cool story, seemed a cool guy.

I think he means "prom night" as somebody's else career peak approaching, hence "you're promised tomorrow". Phresher was originally just suppose to do the chorus (I believe on the original version). Was asked if he had a verse, he lied and said yes. Went home and wrote one, came back to the studio the next day and laid it.

Love the fact that Kamikaze came out shortly after this verse. Also, this is probably the version that was supposed to be on Revival. 2 Chainz was PISSED when the song was on the album without his verse. All the hate came rolling in, Em recorded his response and dropped this track. Also, check out Phresher shit before this. He had a few door tracks without this flow, the stuff that got Em’s attention to ultimately have him on a track. Em’s the goat.

Look, are here dudes on or near Ems level at their absolute best? No doubt. Black thought, Big L, Pun etc. there ARE dudes with that skillset. HOWEVER, what makes Em the GOAT in my eyes is consistency and sheer volume. NO ONE has the sheer amount of verses consistently at this level. I mean let’s be real, people still have Pac and Big at 1 and 2. They released how many projects? I understand that yeah eye or well in this case ear test is enough to prove what level they were but at some point sheer volume has to take over. Prime D Rose might have been one of the best ball players we ever seen. Doesn’t mean he’ll be remembered as a top tier player when all is said and done.

IMO, “Chloraseptic” is Eminem's “Ether.” The difference is he didn't aim it at any specific rapper, he shot back at everyone shitting on him for Revival. Don't get me wrong, I was NOT a fan of that album either, but I felt that project got a lot of undue hate because Em wanted to experiment with his style.
