Another great day at the flea :0) You won't believe what my friend stumbled onto! Long story short...I'm driving back and forth between Pennsylvania, WV and Ohio staying with friends. I had just left WV and was only back in PA 1 day when I get this video call from friend in WV. She found an estate sale in Ohio and when she showed up....OH MY! House had been abandoned for over 5 years. Old couple had passed and family just wanted rid of it all. Several out buildings, house, attic, basement and yard was covered. She was the only one there! You would DIE if you could see all of the vintage Christmas lying EVERYWHERE....She was literally picking ornaments(Still in boxes) from dead animal carcasses(Raccoons and such) that had been there so long there was nothing but fur left. I have NO clue how many of the items were not broken. Literally had to be dug out of dirt floor in outbuildings. I told her to get it ALL...LOL. She packed her car and could fit nothing else and he only charged her $30! She went back the next day with reinforcements(Her sister and nieces) and again videod me and again my adivce after seeing the items was to get it ALL...Nobody was there on this day either! They packed a bigger car for $40! I will be going back for Thanksgiving and they plan to let us look again...I beilieve they could have offered him $300 and he would have gave it all to them. There is soooo much left. I'm scared they will just toss what is left...We suspect that the few who showed up and left did not want to dig(It is dirty, old, musty, muddy blah blah...You get the idea.) Wish you could see this goldmine! Here's hoping you will run onto another trash bag house this winter!

This sounds like a dream come true!! I would love to come across something like this! Hopefully the people holding the sale will be excited to have people willing to dig & buy and they won't decide it's time to clean the home/buildings out now. It might be a good thing to offer a certain amount for the ability to pick freely out of all of the buildings, whether that's $300, $500, whatever price you & your friend would be comfortable with. If U-Haul/rental trucks are priced low, might even be a good idea to rent a large truck for a day so that you can fill it up in one shot. Start early in the morning, pack a lunch, & enjoy digging!

One more time - and you got fantastic weather over there, compared with Central Europe (cold and foggy). ☁And a lot of customers as well, even including a real giant as we can see at 3:48. Great idea to separate your merchandise into price categories to avoid numerous requests. Flea market season is over, but there are tons of indoor topics to cover: storage wars, mail days, highlights from my collection, reorganizing my ephemera, my letters from Berlin and Vienna etc. etc. And you got a really good chance to reach 100 k subscribers until the end of this year as well. 🤞Keep it up, and have a wonderful weekend (perhaps combined with a short trip to NYC ?!). 🗽Greets from GER, U.

@@CraftTgurl It takes time & I'm fine with that. Slow & steady wins the race! Many do not like that I do storage unit videos, but that's just another aspect of reselling. It's a means to get inventory for the flea market/online sales and is a method of sourcing that many do, especially if your main method of selling is the flea market. Having videos like storage units do well allow me the time to conduct research for my history videos, though often times I end up scrapping that content because I'm not satisfied with how it turns out or feel that there might be some issues with the content of those videos.

Attending a flea market is a part of the weekly routine of many people. They meet up with the friends, walk around a bit, grab some coffee & a baked good, & sit down to catch up. There are stories shared about finding a "treasure" that morning, buying something that they've been looking for for years, or just enjoying getting a good deal on a practical item. Each market has their own community, and it is enjoyed by so many ❤

I'm fixing the situation that I've been subscribed to Taco but not you, by subscribing. Everything you do seems to always make sense to me, while sometimes things he does has me yelling advice at the screen. Especially when he leaves a bonanza of an estate auction with only $37 of stuff each and every time, lol. Maybe I should just admit that I enjoy an occasional train wreck. In his defense, what he does, works... and he has an excellent work ethic, an excellent attitude, and treats everyone well. He was smart to choose a business where he can do well by seizing mostly small opportunities while completely missing/dismissing obvious big opportunities unless he stumbles into them cheaply. Anyway, I do enjoy watching his channel, and your version of this 11/6/24 flea market was so excellent that I want to see more of your videos. Some to catch up, some in the future.

Did you realize you were quoting The King ("Are You Lonesome Tonight")? "Now the stage is bare / And I'm standing there / With emptiness all around ... " (and then, as Dickel might conclude, "And if you won't come back to me / They can bring the curtain down." Loved the little bit of disco and fast moving - like you had an LP on 78 rpm (but that wouldn't work because you needed that wide spindle to play 78s, right?). Fun, average day. Have you ever tried graphing the # or $ of sales over time? You could develop a table for the exact most profitable time to leave in different kinds of weather, at different times of year, etc. Not really. Glad you sold out, mostly. The YS ornament was a great gift. Have a fab Friday afternoon and weekend. Thanks for the video & your time & talent! (My trip is over - I am at the airport hotel in Vienna waiting on an early flight tomorrow. At least going west one gets back the same day one leaves!).
@PaperandMoose2 ай бұрын
The fast moving was a mistake on my part, as I had the camera filming on time lapse. Oops! I wanted to use the Benny Hill theme music because I thought it would have fit well, but too much money to purchase the license to use. It seems across the board, except at one flea market, the usual time for us to leave is around 10am. We sell between 4-5 hours, with the heaviest sales being first thing as we are setting up. By 10am, our inventory has lessened and so staying for another hour to make $10 (if we are doing our $1 days), doesn't make sense to us. For others, they stay all day and that works for them (especially those that have permanent spots). Weather also plays a big part in the market, so we have to adjust to that as well. It would be interesting to talk to those with the permanent/monthly spots to see what their experience is. Some of those also set up at 1am during the summertime, so they've already been selling for several hours before we even get there. Those are the ones that probably look forward to winter break the most! Hope that you have safe travels back!!
