I have yet to find a video that explains how to adjust this valve properly for the number of people and the hardness of the water . Just look at this one he doesn’t tell you shit my water is 85 grainsHard per gallon I have two people living here how do I set the damn thing for that scenario

2024 still wondering. Moved into a house that had this version of softener installed in 2008, no idea how to set this dial properly. I can set it and have a general sense but no clue what my hardness should be or where to set the people dial since we have 2 adults and 2-3 kids.

Hi Wheeler, If you have the Fleck 5600 Econominder, you will want to turn the center dial slightly to the right until you see the word "regen" in the window next to the red button. This will cause the softener to begin immediate regeneration. Or, if you want the softener to delay regeneration until 2am, you can turn the capacity dial (on the right) until the "gallons capacity" arrow is pointing to 0 on the dial.

Everytime I set my gallons dial it moves my person count and it won't allow me to set it to the correct person count which is 2 people, my system runs everyday and it used to run once a week. How do I get it back to the once a week setting?

PLEASE, be specific of what "time of day" is. That should be the setting time when the Regen takes place and should stay the same throughout the day, like 2am meaning regen at 2am, OR it should work like a clock showing the hours through the day just like a clock. Thank you.

Hung, I'd need to physically see the softener and its current settings, your tank size, the water hardness level of your city, etc... This sounds like a a situation where calling a service technician may work out the best for you.

I want my regeneration to happen later at night, currently 12:30 is too early. Can I set it to happen around 2:30/3:00 am??

Remove the plate on back of unit and you'll see salt adjustment. Loosen the screw and adjust amount. It's recommended to configure at 75% working capacity, which uses almost half the amount of salt per regen compared to operating at 100% capacity. 75% capacity works out to 6.75 lb salt per regen for 24,000 cu feet of resin (8x44" tank size), 9 lb for 32,000 cu feet of resin (9x48" tank size), or 13.5 lb salt for 48,000 cu feet of resin (10x54" tank size).

That's great, but I have another dial, namely, a grains per gallon dial. The manual says to set people dial, which you don't mention, though it is shown in your video, to align with the gpg, which is a number from 1-75, which is weird because my water is super crunchy, but by all online info, only 4.01 gpg. So, sorry, but WTF? Your video, like every other useless video doesn't tell me anything I need to know. Thanks.
