Day 27: This is a comment by a guy called Mr1Skill7 I read on a Cybershell video (Not a video by him, one about him) : “In the first minute of his last livestream in which he played Shadow the Hedgehog, he stated that Sonic 06 made him not care for Sonic for about a decade. While this was most likely intended as a joke, I quite honestly believe there is some truth behind it. It's no secret that he took a very long break from creating edited videos lasting for almost ten years and this might be due to him losing interest in the Sonic games in general. Some people might know this feeling of being obsessed with a certain media franchise or general topic and losing interest after a certain period of time. So his initial fascination, which in his case resulted in his videos, slowly came to a stop. My theory is that the exact same thing happened during 2017: due to the upcoming Sonic Mania, a game that resonated with him on a very personal level because it reminded him of his childhood, he started making videos again; meaning he probably regained that drive for creating them. However, this motivation stopped shortly after Sonic Mania released, since all the hype died down. Taking a closer look at his videos, it becomes obvious that his uploads slowed down significantly right after Mania released. To be exact, only four videos were made after he gave his opinions on that specific game, standing in stark contrast to the twelve he created in the pre Mania era. Keeping all this in mind, it is very likely that he stopped creating videos because he simply lost interest in Sonic as a franchise. As someone already mentioned in another comment, the videos we got were all ideas he had for a very long time and this indicated he talked about these topics because he was personally interested in them. While in normal circumstances he could just return whenever he feels like it again, this can not be said about the current situation due to the fact that money is involved and he would have to answer some very unpleasant questions. It's sad, really. Cybershell turned out to be one of my favourite KZbinrs and he just... disappeared.” I feel like this might actually be it sadly. I'm gonna be honest, I actually really miss Cybershell, but it just sucks that he left without saying anything. I'm not going to hold him up to some sort of pedestal, I mean he's only a human being after all, but it really just seems like such a dick move to leave without saying anything especially after making all these promises and setting up a Patreon explicitly stating he was not going to do the thing he ended up doing. Personally, I started watching Cybershell when I was about to go into my freshman year of high school. I'm now going to enter my last year of high school. And while I'm not obsessed with his videos or anything, I really looked forward to them and they were really nice to watch in a time of my life where I was uncertain about the future. I swear there were the most chill yet hilarious videos I've watched. To this day I still like watching them late at night when I'm doing homework or something. Despite him making like a total of 12 videos, I still think about them to this day. Honestly this might sound hyper autistic but I kinda looked up to him, he actually really seemed like a cool dude, and not in a fake way either like a lot of other Sonic related youtubers. Anyway, all I'm trying to say is what the fuck happened Cybershell? Leafy came back before you did. Hell, Half Life came back before you did. Mania Plus and Mania Adventures came out, the Sonic IDW comics came out, the Sonic movie poster came out and it was shit, Team Sonic Racing/Overdrive came out, the Sonic movie trailer came out and it was even more shit, a shit ton of prototypes related to classic Sonic games came out (where people even tried to summon Cybershell on the streams), the Sonic movie got a redesign and it looked actually promising, and the Sonic movie actually came out and it was honestly really good (at least compared to most's expectations). And after all that time, all we have from Cybershell is...nothing. Radio silence. I miss this channel, and I'm sure a lot of other people do, but all I want is closure. I don't care if he doesn't start making videos again, but I just want to know why he left. I'm not gonna stress about it too much, it's just one of the many mysteries of life, like the reason why we're here or that weird fucking hidden Sonic CD message. And I know most people expect him to come back in 2026, but assuming the world is still around, by that point I probably won't really give a shit. Thanks for anyone reading my stupid ass Ted Talk about a kinda obscure youtube channel that made videos about Sonic. Rest in peace Cybershell, you will always be the true Sonic Lore Master in my heart.

You know, if and when he does come back, I'd like to see him make a review specifically on shadow the hedgehog and sonic 06 because as you probably know, a lot of critics have a ball bashing those games and for once I'd like to see a professionally made review to remind me that there's more to those games than "Where's that damn FOURTH chaos emerald?"
