This version really hits how I feel right now. I lost my wife 20 months ago from cancer. We were high school sweethearts. I was 16 she was 17. We’ve been together for 27 years. This song breaks me every time. I’ve been with my husband for 18 years. We got married when I was 17, so he’s been in my life longer than he wasn’t. I literally built my whole life around him, but we’re heading toward a divorce and while I feel it’s necessary, it still hurts more than anything else I’ve been through and I’m scared. There isn’t another song that I’ve heard that fits so well. This cover is exceptionally beautiful.

When I was four years old I was taken away from my mother. My father took me to America and promised to bring her along for a better life. He cut off my contact with her. I grew up in a very abusive household with my step mom always beating and berating me. I hated myself, I thought about suicide. when I turned 19 my mom found me on Facebook and I flew across the sea from Seattle to the Philippines to meet her. It was because of her that I was able to build the courage to take my life into my own hands. I finished school. I started lifting weight and I’m no long malnourished. I am a confident man in my early 30s. It was all thanks to her. When I hear this song I think about all the time I’ve lost being away and not being able to watch my mother grow. I wish I could have experienced my mother grow through out her life and been there for her for everything. A mothers love can never be replaced.

I was 8 yrs. old when I had my 1st heartbreak when my Lola (my mothers mom) died. 4 yrs. After, my Lolo (lola's husband) passed away. My dad died a year after my Lolo. My favorite mentor/teacher died 3 yrs. ago. My grandma (my dad's mom) died two months after her. 1 year after my grandma died, 1 of my grand-uncle whom I looked up to also died. And most recently, June, 2022 my Mama went to heaven with them... Hearing this makes me sad but it gives me warmth and comfort.. It feels as if they're hugging me. It gives me a very nostalgic feeling like how my Mama used to cuddle me when I was a baby even though I dont remember any.. Thank you for this.

The warmth in this song makes me feel like everything is gonna be ok. Their voices tell a story of a pain that's familiar to me, and maybe that's why I take comfort in it. Something that can be felt to this degree should be cherished. I close my eyes and I think of my wife and kids we are sitting around the fire at her parents property the kids and nephews are playing and I'm just grateful for that moment. My wife has a beautiful soul I see her in everything beautiful, so thank you for giving me this song. I can close my eyes and the moments can become real if only for a little while.

I feel you, I moved away from home for work to a place where I don’t know anyone after graduating college a year ago. I grew up in the Texas and this new place just seems so unfriendly by comparison, the people dont say “hi” back to you, they just stare as if you’re an alien, and making friends outside of work has been hell. I miss my family, I miss my friends, I miss seeing people that look like me from time to time. Being a days drive from home sucks. The homesickness fades, but it hits when you least want it to.

I’m not sure what this song means to everyone, but here’s what it means to me. I think about how I stopped leaning so heavily on my mom emotionally. I would always run to her to fix everything and build me up. It actually created a crutch in my life and I couldn’t move forward without breaking that cycle. I had to find my own confidence and voice. It was hard and I still want to go back to that comfort sometimes, but then I won’t listen to my own inner voice and intuition.

I grew up listening to this kind of music. Back then i didnt have friends only bullies who would hurt me for fun. Around 13 i moved again to what i consider my hometown. I made my first few friends or rather they found me. It started with just 4 of us. It didnt matter to them what i liked or if i said something stupid or that i was strange and different. They encouraged and helped me find out who i am. A few years ago my best friend joe commited suicide states away. I knew who he was and what he meant to me even when he was alive hes made me cry many many times from telling me or even other peoe hoe gratful he was to be able to know me. Everyone whos seen us together has said they have never seen two people so close, 1 in a million freindship. Iv never loved anyone more than i love him and i may never. As i said i grew up with music like this. But i never understood this song. Now at the age of 27. I get it. And I am afraid of changung because i really did build my life around him. Everything had him there. And now im at a lost on what to do next. I get older while my image of him stays young and smiling he so rarely didnt smile. This was one of my mom's favorites too. She passed in '99 also at 42. I'll turn 43 on Halloween, and it's fucking with my head that I'm older than she ever got to be. This song gives me some peace, though.

Sometimes, we search for something we can hold onto as we go through life. A purpose...a moment when we find deeper meaning. For me, it has always been music. KZbin has brought so much talent to the fore.. Sierra and Chase, you have an incredible ability to keep the lines of the covers you do clean, yet are able to get across your own emotion and interpretation of what each song means to you personally. Keep up the amazing work.

I’m always finding my self coming back to this cover every month, especially when I’m going through my toughest times. It just speaks to me, idk how to explain it lol

This is so unrelated to the song but I discovered this song and it immediately reminded me of a teacher of mine who passed away recently. She felt like how this song felt to me each time I listen to it. I miss her dearly

Really lovely quality. I adore singers who draw you in instead of singing at you. Very special and intimate quality.

I love this song and you guys' rendition was absolutely perfect. I was working on a project this morning and was playing a block of your videos to keep me company. This added bonus was just the cap off my day needed.

Miss you everyday. Some days are easier than others. But man, when the world is crashing down and everyone is self destructing, its like my hands are tied behind my back without you. You always knew what to do and say. Im gonna keep fighting, thats what i was taught. You were my rock, now i gotta be the rock. I love you Dad.

It's amazing how some music can make you feel your soul. I think we all get caught up with all kinds of bs that we choose to focus on daily. I think if we all took a step back to admire how fragile this beautiful gift of life is we'd solve a lot problems.

I took my love, I took it down Climbed a mountain and I turned around And I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills 'Til the landslide brought me down Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love? Can the child within my heart rise above? Can I sail through the changin' ocean tides? Can I handle the seasons of my life? Mmm Well, I've been 'fraid of changin' 'Cause I've built my life around you But time makes you bolder Even children get older And I'm gettin' older, too Well, I've been 'fraid of changin' 'Cause I've built my life around you But time makes you bolder Even children get older And I'm gettin' older, too I'm gettin' older, too Ah, take my love, take it down Oh, climb a mountain and turn around And if you see my reflection in the snow covered hills Well, the landslide will bring it down And if you see my reflection in the snow covered hills Well, the landslide will bring it down Oh, the landslide will bring it down
