This woman never stops surprising me. Never seen this video and Christine is ALIVE! This was a relatively quiet, drama free period for the band and this song is one of their most overlooked gems. Christine was and continues to be the glue that holds the group together.
@AvonShavon5 күн бұрын
Not many would agree with me, but I argue that the songs Fleetwood Mac created during the Billy Burnette/Rick Vito era hold up extremely well. This gem (and I know RV was not involved in this particular track) is an undervalued gem.

What actually shines is how well Billy Burnette filled Lindsey's shoes in the "behind the mask" album (and eddy quintela co-writing this particular song) . This track "screams" FM vibes... if you pay attention to John's superb melodic bass and Mick's typical drum fills is amazing... i'll love this band til the end of my days

For me a great song by Fleetwood Mac, like many hundreds. If one had to make a documentary about this band, it would take not only hours, but days of time. This song by Christine McVie also expresses the carefree attitude towards life at that time. We, who were able to experience this time, can feel happy when you see how crazy this world has become. I do not agree, as many here think, that Christine was underrated. She has her place in the band FM, which no one else could replace. Christine and Stevie were best friends. And each of them is irreplaceable. So is Lindsey. Mick and John, too, of course. The fans know that. Clueless are the alleged experts in the radio stations, especially here in Germany. They only tell the old stories from the Rumours time, have no idea what FM have done in the decades after. The time when Rick and Billy joined the band as "replacements" for Lindsey was musically refreshing for me. On the album "Behind the Mask" I like every song. And on the "Tango in the Night" tour, Rick and Billy were great in harmony. Even if there are other super-groups that have shaped music history for many years, for me Fleetwood Mac are absolutely TOP, just because of the inspiration of all three songwriters, whose versatility and skill is unrivaled. Best regards from Germany...

To me, Christine was the glue that held the band together for so many years. When Lindsey left in 1987, nearly every single put out from 1988-1995 was written by Christine. She has always been the underrated in my eyes. Honestly, no knock on Stevie, Rick or Billy, but without Christine's strong songwriting on As Long As You Follow, Save Me, Skies The Limit, Behind The Mask, Love Shines, Heart Of Gold, Sooner Or Later and Nights In Estoril, Fleetwood Mac would have completely fell apart after Lindsey left in '87.

This is such a peculiar time in the FM story. The band was back to being a quartet after the band's flamboyant American front line departed and all that remained was John, Mick, some other guy and Christine as the reluctant front woman. The band was in tatters yet it appeared to be a joyous period - easily the happiest and most carefree song and video of their career.

hejiranyc I agree as it’s one of my favorite FM songs. It’s from the “The Chain-25 Years” box set. 4 new songs recorded for it. 2 Christine songs, along with “Paper Doll” with Stevie on lead and another one with Lindsay on lead.
