As many times as I have told myself I need to pause and thank you for making these videos, this one is the perfect one to do so as you close the frame on a lovely sunset with an array of Cutwater boats in the foreground, which is the craft we enjoy the water on. Many thanks for the time and effort crafting these videos and sharing them.

Listening to Mr Flemimg s narrative is the most welcome interlude from the daily news cycle. It is at once a comforting escape from reality and the most hopeful return to what is so important to us all, a purposeful life worth living. It is done with intelligence and humility.

All these adventures with Venture. Such beautifully made documentaries . With one of the most elegant ships I’ve seen. Comparable to a Jaguar E type. Beautiful lines. Narrator Tony Fleming is on par with David Attenborough in sound, diction and knowledge. It is a joy to spend my time watching these journeys, admiring the filming, diversity of landscapes and the choice of music. Thank you for this.

Tony... I am sad I missed you at both my own marina of Elliott Bay AND the boats afloat show! I met you once before at a Seattle boats afloat show when you were aboard a Fleming at their booth. I don't recall if it was Venture or not, but it took me a while to realize who I was talking to, and was rather star struck when I figured it out. We had an interesting chat about the design of American Marine's Grand Alaskan series of wooden yachts as well as some recent updates you had made to Venture with regards to the shaft logs. It was a pleasure to meet and speak with you. Thanks for all you have brought to the industry of pleasure boating! Your legacy is quite expansive!

Next time you go through the San Juans, let me know. I have a "secret" anchorage in mind that you might enjoy! We lived in Friday Harbor for 30 years and that is where we built Laurel, our Cape George 31. We went out almost every weekend-seriously! I remember having to sail back from Stuart Island in late January when the Canadian weather station at Trial Islands was reporting sustained 55 knots with gusts. That was exciting!😁

I can’t wrap my tiny brain around a four to five story yacht! Somehow it just does not compute. The Venture is warm cozy and intimate. Those mega yachts, everyone would go off to their own quarters. There is such comfort in sitting with books, quietly, but being in the room together that binds us. Those big ships, you would lose that, entirely. But then again, with the company you have, retreat, might be the best option!

I remember noticing the two buildings you refer to and, of course, they are clear to see in the video, It is amazing to me how often I get comments such as your's from people who were present when the video was shot. For example there have been people aboard boats we saw well out to sea.

I love your videos, your images, your narration. But on this video, Id like to know what camera, what lens and what exposure you used for the gibbous image?? Awesome image.
@FlemingYachts Жыл бұрын
No one was more amazed than myself that the gibbous moon image came out at all which was one of the reasons I included it in the video! It was shot handheld using a Panasonic GH4 Lumix camera with a 100 to 300mm Lumix lens adjusted to 300mm. On this mirrorless camera this is equivalent to 600mm on full frame 35mm camera. ISO was set to 3200. Shutter speed to 1/1300 sec. F stop 4. Incidentally, all my video is shot on a GH5 handheld except for a few shots on an iphone.

I simply love your videos which transport me to your world. But if I should buy a Fleming, I'm afraid that I will need a captain such as yourself. (No one else will do.) I'm okay in open water, but intimated by marinas. Aren't we all...

I do like your videos. But do you have any videos at all Venture in rough seas ? Let's say 20 to 30 knots the boat going into the waves and wind and waves on the beam and wind and waves from behind. You have the drone and that would be a nice way of learning how the boat behaves in waves. I know most manufacturers will never show you any videos of their boats in rough weather witch is understandable. It's probably not a good thing if you want to sell a boat. I do believe that you stand behind your product though and for me that is a must see. If think I will never buy a boat again without a sea-trial in rough weather to see how the boat behaves and what it feels like.

Boundary Bay, the second largest producing Dungeness crab fishery on the west coast, out side of Alaska. Good ol john and ray, the last guys I knew with licenses: throw back the breeders and it's self-sustaining. Don't do that, and you ruin it.
