I just got a Flemish giant rabbit. She is a gorgeous fawn color, we have only had her for 2 days and she has an amazing personality.

How is she to look after? Requires a lot of work? Or pretty easy to look after?

@@wendybraswell5304 I live in Canada. I got her off of kijiji lol. We asked a lot of questions to make sure that the animals were well taken care of, and we also went to visit the property to look at the animals. I’m sure you could also find breeders off of instagram or Facebook. You might also find one in a shelter.

We got a Flemish giant last week. He's a little over a year old, completely house broken and is more like having a puppy or dog in the house rather than a rabbit. If anyone opens the fridge he flies across the house to see what's doin in the fridge 😂😂😂. He has his own bedroom and if he doesn't want you to leave his bedroom he runs and lays on your feet so you don't move 😂😂. I will say rabbit proofing the house was more difficult than baby proofing my house for all 4 of my kids combined. He's a curious fella that goes everywhere. I've bought a few baby gates 😂😂🐰🐰🐰

So cool! One just showed up in my yard and I'm assuming it was released 🙄not smart in Florida. It's extremely friendly and came right to my porch this morning for food... Ran to store for Romaine hearts and baby carrots 😊it was very happy!!!

@@ninawalters4902 my little buddy has changed my life. When I get home from work he does flips in the air and always checks to see if I brought home treats (I'm a chef). He's so good and has the whole house with our dog and cat who love him too. He's amazing!

@@chefdave12118hey I found a recuse Flemish giant and am doing my research to see if he’s a good fit for our home. When they’re litter trained, is it common for accidents to still occur? A few here or there we could handle but I’ve seen some rabbits that just poop all over and people say they’re litter trained. We’d plan on having a rabbit of this size free roaming.

@@Sam-qt5ff our Flemish giant never has accidents and I really mean ever. He occasionally may bring one out on his paw, but never on the floor. We're blessed. Is your rabbit fixed? I'm a chef and not a vet, but I would see if he/she is fixed and if you see him/her raise it's tail, pick them up and put in the litter box. I just got lucky... Our boy is like a cat

I just got a 5 month old and she is by far the best pet I’ve ever had. She’s playful, affectionate, outgoing, fearless and gets along great with our dogs

theyre still a rabbit, but they seem to me to have just a little more bravery than normal rabbits. they are SO chill, calm, friendly. :)

The world record longest rabbit is held by a Continental Giant (who was over 50lbs). There's no max for Flems, but they're considered to top out around 22lbs. Flemish might be able to be shown as Contis, but the colors and standard is somewhat different. Flemish tend to be wider and Contis tend to be longer (but they're both pretty big)

I'm getting one tomorrow to make up for the loss of my skinnypig who died either of a heart attack or eating her cage wood chips. (Is it safe to have these rabbits around cats? I also have a hyper cat at my house who is suspected to have scared my skinnypig into having a heart attack. Btw skinnypigs are prone to heart attacks.)
