Their strategy has been superb. To roll out basic tools in the first year and then each year after that expand into some specific category.

I'd love to see a track saw, grease gun, heat gun, sheet metal nibbler, sheet metal shears, d-handle sds max and a planer. Then they can move on to stuff like a pro press , some concrete and higher end tools. Several in that list can be a single gen tool for a long time like a heat gun, make a good one and your done engendering on it for a long time. A track saw is the big one I need right now as we are no longer allowed table saws on site unless its a saw stop.

They already have concrete and surfacing/polishing tools because that’s been their specialty for like a century. They invented the angle grinder and die grinder after all. It’s just under their original German tooling brand. You can find it on their website
@g33xzi11a25 күн бұрын
This is why it’s ridiculous that US parents last 20 years. There’s a single simple change that has allowed a single device to exclusively provide an all-but-required safety feature and nobody can even start innovating on it until that expires. With continuation 25 years. So for a quarter of a century nobody has been able to make safer saws using capacitive brake engagement because of patent laws. I think a decade is more than long enough to capitalize on a patent like this. Heck with something that’s Germaine to human health and safety I’d even say no patents, just require reasonable forced licensing as determined by market analytic with automatic drop-off in licensing fees over time.

They’re building out a premium tool brand that’s meant to compete with Milwaukee and Mitabo and that takes time especially because most of their supply chain and R&D is German/EU-based and they are now establishing themselves as an American brand. I’d rather not see them expand too quickly and have unpredictable quality as they over extend themselves. Then we’ll just wind up with another Craftsman or DeWalt where the quality is a total gamble.
@Benitodelacruz-d9p18 күн бұрын
@ this point if these nailers can shoot like a tank reliability then we ALL HAVE TO ADMIT , FLEX IS ABSOLUTELY on topnof the game if they hold up with reliability

It looks like certain Lowe’s have the 2 aH in stock. It has the same power output as the 5aH and is smaller and lighter. Picked mine up yesterday. It pretty small not as small as the DeWalt but still good considering 24v, it’s also cheaper at a base price of $99 compared to the normal price of $119 for DeWalt. I would say the biggest problem going for the growth of Flex is Lowe’s! Most of the people I talk to that work there have never tired the tools nor are they educated on them (I think it’s the sales reps fault on the education). They have to realize that they have a product line that is up there in power and performance with Milwaukee and the latest DeWalt.

Been waiting for the framer. Have the Milwaukee, weights a ton and has been in for service 3 times in 2 years. The Metabo is lighter and more reliable but doesn't shoot LVL, LSL well. Hoping the flex has the weight and reliability of the Metabo but with more power. Flex isn't doing themselves any favors with the 2.5 and 5 in the kits. The stacked batteries are their biggest advantage.

I see your optimism on their choice of 2.5ah batterys on some of the nailers. For reference my Metabo HPT nailers will shoot over 1000 nails on a 2.0. Thats a lot of nails and most carpenters that will last hours if not all day in some instances plus smaller form factor is nice

I have zero problem paying more for a tool under some conditions of course. If the tool has superior quality, ergonomics, and performance. Flex seems to have the quality and performance down, though they could definitely work on the ergonomics part. Overall, I don't mind paying the extra bucks for FLEX. Then again, they are a tax deduction as a business expense, so in the grand scheme of things I get a little extra motivation.

Unfortunately i dont have any metabo hpt tools either so it doesnt really benefit me and also like its design and shape and all looks identical to the makita. They copied them for sure. Prices are steep! lol but flex does have to make up for Lowes not really pushing the products. To be fair dewalt is in the 320+ range with their flywheel nailers bare tool so these aren't too far off in kits. 2.5 ah on tools that cost hundreds is painful..Cmon flex at least a 3.5 stacked. Not sure if you're gonna do that follow up video on the quick eject vs a new one but it may help people understand that a torture tested tool for 4 years is gonna last much longer with general use, or confirm if something may just be wrong with yours which flex haters will love

Switched from DeWalt and Makita to Flex. I have at least 10 tools and all have exceeded my expectations. Better than DeWalt, especially the variable speed grinder, 6 1/2 inch in line circular saw, and the 18 gauge brad nailer. Better features and ergonomics. I will not be leaving this platform.
