Eva gets a thumbs up all on her own. If she's happy, the whole camp is happy.

DOME LIFE Thanks for watching. I enjoy your videos. Will you continue to camp in cooler weather?
@CodyandKellie4 жыл бұрын
Frazier Douglass yes sir. We are planning a camping trip to only public diamond mind in the world next weekend, then we are hosting our first Fall Into Nature with Dome Life event the weekend after (we will vlog the event but won’t camp. It will be at the Rattlesnake Ridge Nature Conservancy here in Little Rock. Will include lead hikes, MTB rides, kayaking safety, rock painting for kids, camping set up how to’s, and so much more facebook.com/events/475578736378140/?ti=icl). We also have camping trips planned to New Orleans, and South Arizona before the year is up. After that it become hard because my real job is an accountant so I try by best to get one night camping trips just west of Little Rock in the Ouachita National Forest through April 15. Our winters in Arkansas are mild, so the one month that’s is really cold is end of Jan and first of Feb. after that we are able to handle the temps again because it starts to get in the low 30s again. How about you? Will you camp in the cooler weather?

DOME LIFE I would love to but my age is making it harder along with my wife’s health and our grandsons school schedule is making it very hard. My wife has a lot of trouble adjusting to cool weather under 80 degrees.

@@moderntentcamping I hate to hear that. Hopefully you can get a few more camping trips in before the winter sets in.

Great review. Hit all the important points. Looked like a decent net shelter. Spraying the roof with waterproofing spray is key with rain. Ava's input was great. Would love to hear more about your thoughts down the road with more usage. Thank you for sharing, take care Frazier D. and Ava.

RedWhite&Blue 78 Thanks Jason. This one took forever. At first, couldn’t understand why my video wouldn’t upload to KZbin. Finally figured out that I had an old version of iMovie. when I downloaded the new version, I accidentally deleted this complete project that I worked on for about 3 weeks. Had to re-make the whole video and apparently left something out because this new version is 2 minutes shorter than the original. Hope it was not too important. Thanks for the comment. Hope all is well with you and your family.

Well, this my friend is another excellent video. Nicely don't on the full in-depth review. It sounds like your wife is super happy with it, and like you say with fall coming on, a chilly day inside there cutting some of the bone chilling wind could make for a comfortable place to relax with the dogs etc. still be able to cook and knocking off some of the cold air being a huge perk as temp start to decline with fall and winter getting closer. Thank you for taking the time to upload this and share it with us and I hope you both have a blessed weekend. Dale

Hi,.. Could have put stakes or weights in place to keep the tent in a fixed position "before" opening it completely up.. It's an individuals own creativity that will make setup and input easier or harder. This is a great invention.

The wife and I just “refreshed” our main camping load out. The previous set was over twenty years old. We have purchased a new Kodiak Canvass cabin tent with wall extension. We also upgraded our cots and sleeping bags. (Cabelas.) Our gear loads are not dissimilar from yours. We have been looking for a screened-in unit for things like this. This appears to be a good candidate. We camp year round. I love your content!

Michael Martin Thanks Michael, I think that Kodiak tent was a good choice. When looking for screen rooms, be sure to look at the Clam Quick Set.

Hey great review. I’m about to purchase one of these. Do you have any long term use issues with it now that some time has passed since the initial review?
@moderntentcamping3 жыл бұрын
Yes, After about 8 trips, one of the hubs tore away from its mesh wall. I may have made a mistake folding it up after a trip but I was not rough with it. We can still set the shelter up but we can’t pull the hub out from the outside. Now we have to go in the tent and push the wall out. You may want to read my Kitchen Shelter page of the web site. I’m currently working on a video presenting my top 5 kitchen shelters for 2021. moderntentcamping.com/camp-kitchen-shelters

@@moderntentcamping Thanks for the fast reply. I’ll have a read through the page thankyou I really appreciate it. I like the price of the flex ion but it seems like it might be worth investing a little more money.

Will this gazebo replace your tarp kitchen shelter used in many of your videos? I suspect the low entrance height could be a problem. Thanks for the new video. Always interesting.
@moderntentcamping4 жыл бұрын
Jim Crosby I don’t think it will but we’ll probably take it on some trips. Eva sure likes it. The tarp shelter is roomier and higher. I need to decide what circumstances each is best suited for. Thanks for the question.

we are currently looking for a replacement for our old bug screen...Thanks for the info ... our is quite 'lightweight' . what i would call fragile, so we want something somewhat stronger. 4 season actually as I will be using a wood stove for winter use. I notice you have a good size tool box/bag. working on that as well.

mrbillmacneill Thanks Bill. I think this will last for several years but you may want to look at the Clam shelters too.

@@moderntentcamping I have looked at "instant up" ice fishing shelters as well. they are quite sturdy but let in very little light -tiny windows - as the end user is usually peering down a hole in the ice trying to snag a fish. we will keep looking !

I have the Gazelle brand and it's a lot easier to put up and better quality... and the (2) door poles are incorporated in the frame. I got the gazebo with side panels for all sides. That way I can choose the view. Sometimes it pays to pay for a better product. I use it as a tent...
@moderntentcamping4 жыл бұрын
Liz Anita Good information. I know several people that like Gagelle products. If I were buying a kitchen shelter, I’d get the Clam Escape XL but this Flexion is very economically priced for families on a tight budget. Thanks for the comment.

Thanks Frazier and Ava for your excellent review of the Flexion Gazebo. I have watched some videos of the clam shell screen rooms, and liked the speed of erecting them. How long did it take you to get the Flexion up and functional?
@moderntentcamping4 жыл бұрын
mrbr549 I’d guess close to 30 minutes by myself until I got the 3 guy lines secured. A young man could do it faster. And 2 people working together could do it faster.

The hardest part is putting those three thin fiberglass ceiling poles in place. The three thin Fiberglas door frame poles are also difficult to install.

We used it this past weekend and are beginning to like it more, but if I were buying one today, I’d get the Clam 12 foot shelter.

check out Bush Tech Adventures, Gold Gazebo. its isnt light but its well made product. You can even add wind and sun panels. I use a garden wagon to carry mine to camp sight along with my Bush tech adventure tent.
