Thank you Kat! Sorry you could not sleep. Hard on your body. I get that way too, sometimes. Meanwhile, you keep smiling. My parents grew up in the Netherlands. They immigrated to Canada in the 50's. I visited twice, so it is very nice again seeing the canals, boats, and that "Stroop Waffle" at a specialty store (restaurant?). I did not know that you could even buy stroop waffles freshly made. Aaahhh the good old wake up in the middle of the night special on the Europe layovers. The worst! My method is taking a melatonin immediately and then eating something (because it's dinner time back home usually). Doesn't always work, but I found it's helped me the most. I also try to stay off any screens. Its hard though. Beautiful layover!! Always the best getting to do it with an awesome crew 😍

Kat, I find that audiobooks and podcasts help me at night when I feel I can't sleep. I set the timer for 15 minutes and I'm usually out before then. I guess it can be like white noise for me. 😴 Loved this trip! I haven't been to Amsterdam (yet) but I hope to get there one day. It looks so pretty. Loved the retro green phone in your hotel room! ☎ NOT a fan of Coke Zero. Yuck. 😝 Look forward to your next video. Give Chip and the furbabies a hug!

Hi Kat. I’m an international flight attendant for a charter airline and I know all to well about not being able to sleep on those trips when you are just overly tired. Fortunately I can usually sleep on break no matter how bumpy the flight is. I haven’t been to Amsterdam yet. Hopefully some day. I’m actually sitting reserve in Ireland though so that’s nice and cool as I’m Dallas based and it’s 100 degrees there. It’s in the 50s here.

The Netherlands is my home country. We go back every year ❤️ the sandwich “oude kaas” means “old cheese”, this means it’s cured longer and has a bit of a stronger taste. I hope you enjoyed it. Next time when you’re back in Amsterdam, you should go and try a bread roll with warm meat at “Van Dobben. It’s in “de Korte Reguliersdwarsstraat 5”. It very close to the flower market.

If you come back to Amsterdam consider to take the train to Rotterdam 😊. From Schiphol there is a fast train which takes you to Rotterdam central in 45 min.

First was the truck still there, you didn’t tell us. We were there in March, what a large airport, we had 1 hour to get through customs and make our connection to krakow. Luckily they opened another lane for us with an hour or less. Afterwards spent 3..5 days there, really nice city. Anne Frank house you need to book reservations in advance, they told us for March 4-6 weeks out. Bicycles everywhere, need to look left and right, not to be run over. I understand why if you live in the city. Did you notice the leaning apartment buildings 😮, they must leave as is by law we were told.

Hi, Kat. I used to drink Diet Coke almost exclusively, then I guess a good 5 or more years ago I had a bad case of the flu or something else like it. Since then I haven’t been able to drink it or any other diet cola. I now drink diet ice tea, water or diet non colas. The ice tea is not the Southern Sweet Tea. I live in Canada and have tried it, but, it makes me physically sick. So, if you find you can’t drink what you normally do you will probably find something you can.
