You haters need to realize the Greatness of this horse. No horse but Flightline has back to back 126&121 Beyer Speed races, Ever. He won every race under hand rides and loafing the last 50m vs the best horses in the world.

@@vernonfrance2974 that is the ugliest kind of bullshit speculation
@vernonfrance29742 жыл бұрын
@@LandisLL Thank you! To be successful trickery often relies on things that seems too outlandish to be believed. . . Of mediocre parentage, Flightline's success in itself seems quite a flight of fantasy. Even considering the genius with which he has been handled . . . avoiding the debilitating stresses of top flight competition at two and three, being given huge amounts of recuperation time, and lucking out in that the best mile and a quarter horse in the BCC got injured during the race. Flighty's sire, Tapit, was ninth in two Derbies and sixth in a third. The only race of merit he won was the Wood Memorial. Somehow, Tapit, has outperformed so much as a sire that it defies even my powers of bullshit speculation. But, I'm working on it . . . Things that defy reason are the most likely to have unexpected causes but for now all I can muster relies on the broodmares being the source of Tapit's progeny's fortuitous Belmont Stakes' outcomes. Flightline's broodmare sire, Indian Charlie, could only manage a third in his Derby. Of course, Flightline was allowed to fully mature and as a four year old would be expected to be better than at any other stage in his life. The trend to get in, strike while the iron is hot, and get out while avoiding the true tests normally required to be considered "Great" have been reinforced by his masterly scheduling. The connections will get handsome rewards for their cunning approach but I speculate once more. I believe his results at stud will be summed up in the three letter word "dud."

@mandalay1172 жыл бұрын
The hind end was from backing into a stall latch, like the other comment mentioned. The marking on his neck is a discoloration of the hair from where they placed IVs to give him fluid/medication after the stall latch incident!

Great BCC race by FL but it surely wasnt a Secretariat like performance. The announcer got a little carried away on that one.

@@paulcarpool2288 because Secretariat won the Belmont by 31 lengths and FL won the BCC by 8 lengths. I guess I dont know for sure, but I am guessing the announcer was comparing those 2 races.

@@TimesUp777 That's like kindergarten analytics. Secretariat's Belmont was a once in a century performance.... that's undisputable,...but all the rest of Secretariat's races,...I would bet Flightline beats him every time!
@TimesUp7772 жыл бұрын
@@paulcarpool2288 you know as well as I do that FL would not beat Secretariat every time. FL won by so much all the time because he didn't have much competition and he was rested for months between races. If Secretariat would have raced 3 times a year like FL he would have won every race by 31 lengths. Secretariat also raced at 2 and 3 years old which is a huge difference from 3 and 4 years old like FL. Secretariat got a 139 beyer at 3 years old and FL highest beyer was 126 at 4 years old. It is highly unlikely FL would have beaten Secretariat every time. Secretariat raced 21 times in 16 months and FL raced 6 times in 18 months! You cant even compare FL to Secretariat just on that alone. Fl was great but running only 6 races is not enough to be rated in the greatest horses ever.

@@vernonfrance2974 I am referring to Flightline myself. Easily one of the fastest (greatest) horses of all time! He never even had a mini stumble during any of his races. @@paulcarpool2288 No. It is the owners' fault. He needed to run more and defeat more top notch horses to be up there with the greats.
