Damn this hits close to home. Makes me feel like if Kenny can keep persevere through these internal struggles, I can too. Even though I can acknowledge the fact that I don't work on my music even half as much as I should be, I harbor a lot of these same feelings of "This dude is going up but I'm not?". It's a ultra toxic mind set, especially when you're knowingly not doing the things it takes to find success in this industry. I make about 19 different excuses every single day to myself as to why I'm not grinding like I should, which is missing the point all together. Everyone has shit going on in life that's tough to handle. But, thats the point of having a work ethic that so many young artists have. We gotta set all that shit aside and focus on just being better at music, quit saying this dude is better with music theory, this guys got all the equipment, etc. Fuck all that, after watching Kenny talk the realest shit I'm out on the excuses. Gotta stop tripping on the failures and what I'm lacking in compared to the people popping. Gotta focus on stepping up my own game, not just with the music but with my life

Those people who get popular definitely put a lot of hours in many ways, and probably they just found themselves where they can be comfortable much earlier than other people do. In any age if you realize that you want to do something just do it without any motivation, look for the result (like finished song, beat, etc), the result can come either you believe in yourself or not. Just put in work and time in your craft. I thought about other people who were blowing up just a couple months ago, and it wasn't a good time for me, I wasn't doing much music, so when I realized what I actually want, I can only be inspired by those blowing up people. I don't know how much years I need to do good ass music, but as I just started couple months ago, I am not stopping as I love this. Be smart everyone with your time)

Some ppl who go on to be great when they are younger can say some evil ass shit like Uzi said. "If your over 25, youre old.". I cant imagine how many up and coming artist, and artist older than 25 who were negatively effected by what he said. Im in the visual arts and didnt have my break until I was 31, and didnt get to be on larger projects until I was in my late 30s. I heard other artist in the industry that would say shit that made you feel like it wasnt worth continuing. I know its messed up, but I took on a "fu** the community" mentality and started to focus on myself and only would connect with ppl that werent on the low vibration nonsense. Like Kenny, I went through a time of just the bitterness of "why am I not making it like these younger cats even though Im putting in major time?". This video really hits for anybody pursuing a career in anything. Major props to Kenny.

I turned 48 today. i started making electronic music in 1988. I wrote curriculum for midi recording courses at the age of fourteen. I'm a drummer, started at age three. a bass player, started at age 12 along with guitar bass and synths. i started recording on a tascam 1/4 inch reel to reel. been around the block, paid my dues on stage, in clubs, as both a musician in bands and as a dj/electronic artist. i've gotten nods and winks on my material from people like Herbie Hancock and my track "birdy" somehow got the attention of the star of the film for which the track is named Matthew Modine (stranger things, full metal jacket). I've sold four albums since december. Spotify verified, on apple, itunes, deezer etc etc etc. It's russian roulette....

@donavin4154 жыл бұрын
No matter how late you make it, someone will make it later than you do. I’m just starting at 16 but the mindset for me is to keep going and thing will come at a good time. Time lets you become the best you can be at the best rate you can, people make it at 16, 20, 24, 28. That’s why you have nick mira a successful producer who’s young, and jay z (ik this comparison is crazy) who was a bit older. Both greats, age doesn’t mean shit when you’re great and you will be just fine imo.
@SashaFujiwara3 жыл бұрын
This is very destructing shit, I experienced on my self. Made plans about better me, who can produce crazy beats, have his own crazy raps at only 17. Time passed and I still didn't make a whole song, only instrumental album and when you see others starting rapping, learning instruments at 10, 12, 15, you getting so much depressed. I know that it's stupid, but subconsciously keep on comparing myself, this sooooo f cked up my brain, that I can't just make music normally. And I didn't think about me getting better then my past self, progressing, that I'm the only one in my city, who make music this good, ego doesn't want it Compare yourself with your past self not somebody else

Kenny is extra real on this video. You have to stop looking around and put blinders on and put together a goal list and get after it. If you want something the power of manifestation works only with positive intention. If you set the goal in your mind then think about ways you can get your goal completed your placing yourself into the position for your goal to complete. You want to produce then learn how to use a daw and get good at it. Create a KZbin channel showing your progress, but only do it as a marker for your progress don’t get all wrapped up in numbers. You are your worst enemy.
