Flip Project 2013 Kia Sorento Back Up Camera Replacement

My 2013 Kia Sorento Flip Project has a faulty back up camera. In this video I show how easy it is to install a replacement. Also we take a look at the final results of reconditioning the Sorento before its listed for sale.

Thank you for the video. It really made replacement so much faster. My 2011 Kia Sorento had exact same corrosion when I got to it. Went through same pains to remove everything.. Plastic plugs and awkward nuts.. Yes, they were 10mm too 😊... Got my replacement camera from Amazon... Good deal... Thanks again for the helpful video

MINE STOPPED WORKING ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO AND I THOUGHT IT WOULD INVOLVE CHASING DOWN SHORTS AND BE REALLY INVOLVED, SO I KEPT PUTTING IT OFF. THEN I FOUND OUT THIS IS VERY VERY COMMON AND 99% OF THE TIME IT IS THE CAMERA. REPLACING THE CAMERA LOOKS EASY, THANKS FOR THE STRAIGHT FORWARD VIDEO. ORDERED A DIRECT REPLACEMENT FROM AMAZON.

Thanks, just finished replacing my wife's rear view camera. Heads up, there's 2 plastic screws you also have to take out that are a big pain in the butt. Also, the socket wrench size is 8mm.

Mine (2012) does this thing where it flickers and the video is in the rear view mirror, i was comsiderin replacing it cauae my vehicle has a parasitic draw and causes thw battery to die if it doesnt start within a few hours . Im thinking the corrosion and then some kind on comtact between wires is causing the draw. I also have the original radio its nice to see this upgraded on

I have a15 sx and I am in the same boat.I am on my second camera and the last one was replaced with warranty. I am guessing cameras are a normal issue for the sorento. Not dropping over $300 for the dealer to put another one. I would rather do it myself.I have the same color. Once you polish it up, it stays gleaming!

What if not just the backup camera but the radio and whole screen is just black how do you fix that?

KC I have a 2013 Kia Sorento and camera was working great until I put our Thule bike rack on tow hitch for a week which caused the backup camera to glitch continually since it only saw the black Thule bar. After a few days with the Thule bike rack installed the backup camera stopped working. Is there a way to reset the camera without replacing it? I'm not sure the camera is bad, before I order a new one and take it all apart. Any suggestions? Frustrating because now we can't use the Thule without this happening again. Thanks for any feedback!! Kia dealer just wants to replace it for minimum of 400.00.

hard for me to tell without looking at it in person. My guess is its not the camera and probably the display screen. Easy way to find out is to remove the camera and test it or replace it with a new one and see if that fixes the problem.

My 10mm socket wouldn't reach the nut to turn for the tail gate's handle. The socket got stuck in the channel leading to the nut on the left side facing away from the car? Did you use thin wall sockets? I eventually was able to free the socket but gave up on the task. 2012 Sorento.

Also, there are 2 part #'s Kia Sorento 2011-2013 (95760 2P202FFF) & 2014-2015 (95760 2P600FFF), do you have the part # you purchased? On Ebay, looks like the two above are interchangeable (except the bracket which you covered in video). Great video! LMK Tx

not sure about buying the bracket only. I ended up using the original bracket with the replacement camera.
