you can also make your own custom marking menus with the things you use the most. ctrl shift click a command in the menu to add it to your shelf. open up marking menu preferences and then drag them from the shelf to where you want them. assign them and they will pop up when you use them.

Couple of little speedups. If you want to use 'Append Polygon Tool' more than once, you can hit 'y' after the first face is created, to prime the tool for making another face. Quicker than exiting the tool and hitting 'g'. Also to set up the object level tools like 'Insert Edge Loop Tool', you're saying to hit Alt-D to deselect everything and then select the object. If you're at component level it's quicker to hold the right mouse button and gesture North East direction.

My favorite tool is holding shift and ctrl and sliding edges and vertices with constraints. In fact my mouse has a hot key for it. Other nifty trick. Hold control and move your mouse left and right over a value in the control panel. It will change values in decimals. Also, when rotating an object. If you drag your mouse further from the selected object it used to rotate slower. I don’t know if this feature still works.

Something i would appreciate would be advance tools of modeling in Maya. Some kind of tip and tricks with MASH or clever ways to use it. Because right now i feel more comfortable for modeling to use blender with the amount of tools it provides to work with so i was wondering if a video with Maya MASH advance modeling could be possible. I wish there were a way to use average vertices but without deforming the shape, kinda what relax brush does but with average vertex.

no one told me that the shift key is the extrude hot key. every video and the official maya site always said that you need to find the extrude option and then press G to repeat the action. if you do a different action like Rotate, the G key will then remember it as the last action and will repeate it whenever you press G. literitly that mechanic is what made me stay on blender and made maya look like a total mess and a major turn off. super happy about this

I think the only childish thing in this whole debate are people like you that still think you need to "choose a side" and then go and bash everyone that prefers to use something else. Different people do different things and prefer different tools for various reasons. Pick whatever you like and what fits your needs best. And accept that others might choose something else. It's time to grow up.
@NymezWoW4 жыл бұрын
@@bretthenk I am not so sure he is joking. Under literally every video like this there is the obligatory "x is better than [insert the software used in the video here]" comment. It's getting annoying. The Blender community is by far the worst when it comes to this but it's definetly not only them doing that.
