I found the owners and all jewelry and papers were returned. They didn't want to be filmed. I updated this in reply to a comment which the poster appears to have later deleted so I'm pinning this up here for those wondering what happened.
@USMiner7 жыл бұрын
Two ways, first time I worked like crazy in the oilfield, saved every cent I made and didn't buy anything that I didn't absolutely need until I could finance my first flip house. Then worked on the house in my free time after work until I got it done and sold. The great recession hit and it took me 9 years to recover. Got my income back up again to where I could take a small loan and bought the cheapest house I could find with good potential, then another, etc. I have no kids so that helps me save.
@USMiner7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, there are tradeoffs everywhere. I intentionally avoided having kids waiting until I felt I was financially secure, but due to market crashes (first dotcom bust, then great recession) that kept getting delayed and now I'm too old and women my age are starting to be grandmas already. Oilfield is dangerous, people died and lost fingers/hands, thankfully none on my shifts. It's safer these days. I buy on the normal market mostly, though some auctions and sometimes I troll areas looking for abandoned houses if the market is slim. Usually what I buy are the properties no one else wants or no one else sees potential in, I've learned to figure out which ones are good. A lot of flippers and investors base their decisions off stuff like what they see on TV shows and much like in the gold prospecting world, they fail because of it. The trick to making money is to understand what the market wants, not what an investor wants to work on. That's the biggest consideration, it's not always about making the nicest house on the block and putting granite countertops in everything like some TV shows love doing. It's about making sure your house is the best one in that particular price range and understand what amenitites that price range entails and which are wastes of money.
@USMiner7 жыл бұрын
The other consideration is generally flippers wants to make a house too nice, then they price a big portion of people out of that house and you end up with nothing for first time buyers except mobile homes which are hard to finance. And that causes houses crises and market crashes. FHA won't finance most flip houses due to condition, which is why most go to investors, and they are generally the only other affordable properties other than mobile homes which are no unavailable due to lack of financing for them for owner occupants. So, as a poor person for most of my life and now a real estate investor, I also feel it's the right thing to do both for the good of our economy and morally to provide renovated houses in price ranges for first time buyers which are leaps better than anything else available on the market and this is what I aim for. This means that they are often sold before I even have to list them because the demand is high, and in return I can save money on realtor fees. As I move forward I like doing these ones more and more, and being in a small town it's nice when you see people at the grocery store who bought one of my houses say thanks a year or two down the road. So, my recomendation for anyone thinking about starting is to find a good patient realtor who will spend a month showing you houses, get a feel for the market, look up what sold and for what price the last 2 years. Then find houses you can sell in that price range, but make them better than anything you saw and still make a profit. That is the basis for a flip house to buy, at least that's what I look for.
@firedragongaming63067 жыл бұрын
You should have kept it but you maybe if you asked if you could have some maybe they would giwe you something and you never if they are gonna lose in a another house so you are technically wasting money it was a great video and you should do more but ya it could be stolen and if you kept some you could have sold some

An easy way to cut em open is to use a drill and drill holes an 1/8th to a 1/4 inch apart in a big circle on the door. Then take a chisel and cut the perforations between the holes. Pop it out like a stamp from a sheet of stamps. You now have access to the locking mechanism. This also allows you to study the workings and learn about safes. Took me less than 10 minutes to get into a safe this way.

I opened my front door one morning to find a safe outside my front gate. It was a metre high and nearly a metre wide. God knows who put it there as it must have weighed a ton. Why are the door bolts not extended when you opened the safe door ? A bit of a spoof if you ask me !
@USMiner7 жыл бұрын
Actually, I just rewatched it, you can see the handle turning as I pry it open (which would not happen if the bolts were retracted and the safe was open). It's because if you look at the prybar, I'm prying right into a bolt on the other side and it's turning the handle almost all the way open, and pulling the bolts further into the door, you can see the handle turn as I pry. That, and those bolts only stick out about 1/4" to begin with, look how shallow the receiver holes are. *Here, I'll even thumbs up your comment, along with my reply it should bring your post to the top of this video. I'm tired of hearing this, I didn't fake shit.

You know sometimes being a nice guy is a truly thankless task. I imagine that conversation with the supposed owner went something like this; so you now know my secret, yes, i am a collector and hoarder of.......you guessed it, empty jewelry boxes! I won't try to deny it, the evidence is clear as day! I'm not proud of it, yet here we are,but I tell you this! To forgo your next question, no, no, it's not for sale, not the whole collection, nor just one box neither am i willing to part it out either! Not one spongy ring holder,not a box top or bottom, nothing is for sale! And now I bid you good day sir, I said good day!!! And that's how I think the exchange really went. Lol! I've seen and heard it all before you know, it's a type of sickness, empty jewelry boxes hoarderitis. It's in all of the new medical journals, papers and dissertations are being published as we speak! Yes,sadly, it's becoming quite the epidemic! And its not just the Beverly Hills jet set either, oh no! It's much more insidious than that! It effects jewelry sales people, jewelers, from high end pieces,to the lowest costume jeweler as well, no one is safe,no one is immune! It can strike anyone, anywhere at anytime! Oh sure,it starts off as a harmless Christmas present, a anniversary gift, an innocent birthday present, but it grows, it gains a rooted foothold! That shiny embossed gold manufacturers printing, the soft felt of the holder,that gentle rattle of a chain inside the box, thats how it starts,but then suddenly, inexplicably, they innocently ask you during Christmas morning as you're unwrapping presents,do you need that old jewelry box your watch just came in? With a catch in their voice they harmlessly state, you're wearing the watch now,clearly you don't need the box now do you? To the common layperson, you'd never detect the insidiousness in such an innocent,harmless request. But to the trained expert, we've seen thia before, the road to ruin! Some have even come to the very end of their poor,tragic,misguided tragic lives from such a depraved fettish! How you ask? By being crushed by the sheer magnitude and weight of a collection grown so out of hand, of control, to be buried under an avalanche of harmless jewelry boxes! Scoff not! We've seen it hundreds of times! And as I've feared, the epidemic is insidiously on the rise once again! To combat this silent killer of the innocent, please crush,stomp and throw away your used jewelry boxes! Because you just never really know, fore the life you save,may be your very own!!! ▪☆☆☆▪
