When I found one of those large cargo warehouses I wasn't airborn yet so I ran two half block supports out of the door and used a couple of hinges and a mag block to tow the cargo box out with my rover and built a custom trailor to tow it back to my hangar.

There is a use for those event controllers. You could maybe make your escape ship a staged vessel a-la KSP to showcase what people can do with the controllers AND it will give you a use for the cranes: building and assembling the stages and a fuelling truck using a crane like refuelling arm to show off the small connector :)

@The Minnesota Wolf I crashed my new rover with a wider and larger wheel base because I wanted to get back to base before my food was ready, next time I will just accept I have to park in the middle of nowhere

yeah... i disabled braking on the front wheels so that i wouldn't flip while trying to stop but that might be skill issue...

@splitsie-for the flyer, rather than connecting the trailer to the base via connector to empty your haul. Maybe make a collector bay at base and use the dump all on the trailer to avoid unloading by hand.

I had something happen recently that you might be interested in. I've been playing with your starter rover for quite a while (several days -- probably 15-20 hours total) in my latest game without any trouble with the wheels locking up. I have several MES mods spawning large grid and small grid things for me to find. Yesterday, I got a "Wreck Detector Ping" chat message that didn't have coordinates but did temporarily show a signal (without a beacon or antenna on the grid). I don't think it was one of yours, but as soon as it spawned, the wheels on the rover I was driving at the time (not the starter rover) locked up (only when steering left/right). Changing wheel strength and power didn't do any good, but saving/reloading got them free. The thing that spawned was a static, large grid, relatively small habitat building. I didn't think to go check the starter rover to see if it was also affected. Anyway, I think the wheels locking up has something to do with grids spawning, the grid that spawns doesn't have to be a complicated one, and the problem is not isolated to your starter rover. I don't know if it's a MES problem or a vanilla problem that MES simply uncovers by spawning things while you're on a planet using rovers (which vanilla won't do aside from unknown signals), but there you go. One more datum.

Sounds like if that's the case it's a physics processing glitch as a grid gets spawned in. Sadly that's a difficult one to do much about :(

For those playing this scenario and are experiencing the the unknown signal bug, it's the same bug thats been around for a while. It can be fixed by going into your sandbox.sbc file in your save folder( I suggest making a backup of the file just in case you mess up) and changing the "PlayerContainerData" field from false to true. I opened the file in word and used its search function to find the PCD field mentioned above. You'll see the bracketed field that says false in lowercase

Idea for the cleanup issue: If it's possible to (mod) hook into SE's cleanup routine, it would be possible to create a specialized sensor block (attached to your builds) which when spawning in prevents buildings from being removed (in a certain area), but after a player enters the area the block gets triggered and the area will get marked for cleanup (after some time). The player can prevent it by placing a "claim area" block (preventing the area from getting cleaned up again). So if you want to revisit a building (for later pick up), you have to place a claim block otherwise it might get auto-removed (on trash removal) after discovery. This would fit your style I think.

Since the vast majority of my grids are unpowered there's no mechanism that I'm aware of (outside of server plugins) to be able to get that level of control over the despawns. If they were powered MES has options, but I don't want to have batteries on every grid :/

I guess I'm just lucky that the first crane I found had the assembler. I had to carry the darn thing out of the mountains before I could use it but I found it fairly early. Mind you I haven't found a single hydrogen thruster yet lol.

To me it tastes like Gianduia ("Viennese" Nougat / brown hazelnut nougat). At least that's the _closest_ taste. If you ever had sweets like Toffifee or Quadratini Hazelnut (and to a lesser extent Hanuta and Ferrero Rocher) you had some ingredient in them that I would call Viennese Nougat.

Over using something like grind to learn, why not have a item like a research station or pod that can spawn in being very rare, limited battery charge and have the whole system set to be scuttled after three or two items have been researched? Also, any chance you'd do a true hard-core scrapyard scenario? No G blocks, only hand tools an weapons so you have to salvage everything to progress

I have an idea how to improve this mod. The Engineer should be prohibited from building blocks. The construction of blocks is possible only on the machine. When the materials are loaded into the machine, she builds a block on her platform, after which the engineer must move this block. An engineer can build various machines, and nothing more. You can build many specialized machines for different blocks. The player will get additional engineering difficulties in the construction, which brings him closer to realism.

I think you should start using weld pads instead of merge blocks. For a guy that likes the hard way, you do like to cheese the auto magically weld of a merge block. Take the hit and spend a computer. Love the mod so far though, cant wait for the update.

There are three grids that you haven’t made that you should make as some Easter eggs one would be the tanker from the road warrior the interceptor and then the fuel station if you want to throw in the Thunderdome that could be funny as well

In my almost 3 weeks of gameplay and over 100hours in it so far I feel everything is pretty well balanced imo. Small hydro thrusters seem to be rarer then large, but thats really my only complaint.

Hey Splitsie, for your MES settings mod, would it be possible to initiate it using the programmable block that you have on the spawn rover? If that's possible, it would likely eliminate the need to add it afterwards since you said the problem was running the commands before the player spawns. You could even delay it with a timer block to ensure the player has fully spawned prior to the code running.

(Question) Would it be possible to to have a option for the way points show up on the GPS tacker as I have try the way u do the 1 - 2 point markers and I still end up losing most of the waypoints lol. Your not the only one who gets lost easily. I once try it with the abandoned settlement mod and when they appear they go into the gps. i remove it do to the fact it was the only things that seem to spawning 90% of the time :). thank you for your time.

lol Nope, I think many people prefer having it there and my attitude toward this is very much, use these mods to make the game more fun for you, however that looks (although don't use easy takeover type mods as they break the way I spawn these things) :P

Oh my god hearing that you don't like Frozen either makes me feel so validated. Such a dumb movie, and I really enjoy Tangled and Moana and lots of other animated (disney and non) movies, but why did Frozen garner so much cultural attention? it's SO DUMB.
