this is by far the best explanation for control linkage geometry i have heard someone who knows their stuff will always explain things more simply than an armature pretending to be smart

Popsicle sticks work awesome for control horns as well. Awesome video guys!

I just cut a small popsicle stick at an angle near the end and drill a hole and it works great
@Stryxxxx5 жыл бұрын
Yeah popsical sticks would work graet
@richardstaccone19274 жыл бұрын
@@Stryxxxx Don't make fun of him, he may not have the dollar fifty to buy a professional made one. Although when the drilled hole wears and he loses a plane to flutter, that would cost hundreds of control horns!!!

I just received my Flight test/HK 'No you cannot fly this plane' T-shirt today, and ironically it was added to my first RC car order, the beetle, the exact same as the one in the background of this video, I got it to do some FPV when the winds are too high for flying and some night driving ;-)

Perhaps a word about a heat shrink linkage for foamies using carbon rod? Probably one of the simplest and slop free linkages available using no special hardware.

I'm not sure about what make/model of RC plane it is, but the fuselage appears to be that of a model of an F-86 Sabre.

Hey I have a question. I bought a plane and started building it but I wore out the screw head for the control horns so instead of screwing the control horns in can I just use glue? My plane is a P51 by FMS.

I want to change the control rod position on my little umx champ - those little horns are delicate and stuck in foam that could easily be damaged- so do you use the pliers to bend the rod or to bend the plastic horn ? or both ?
@matthewbrown16097 жыл бұрын
I feel you, they bend so easily. If you find a good solution would you mind sharing with me? I'll do same if I run across anything,
@lw2163167 жыл бұрын
Its 4 months later and I could not get help with the subject -- so by experience - what is working for me is to use my fingers and bend the horn a little with my fingers and at the same time bend the control rod a little - being patient and keep working at it and so far - it goes in sooner or later - nothing broken or damaged as of now most recent accomplishment was to replace a broken control rod getting the rod out of the hole on the servo on the computer board was hard for me - I'm sure it gets easier with experience

i need help figuring out how to hook the servos to the receiver. this is my first time trying to build something an i own 3d printers so ive printed all the parts an i just built a simple foam board plane not really that interested in seeing this fly but trying to get everything on something an working like it should then im going to go an either print a full plane or a mixture of printed an foam parts. the foam board i have to work with is 5mm thick so not the thickest stuff and for the electronics i have cheap 30amp esc from amazon and a 2200kv brushless motor an the atm a total of 6 sg90 servos. the transmitter an receiver are also cheap from amazon but had good reviews so i tried it, but its the flysky fs-i6x. ive never had the oppertunity to be around rc planes so i have no knownledge what so ever of how they are suppose to work as far as how the controls on the controller are suppose to work, ive had the motor work with the left throttle stick an ive gotten a servo to work for each direction of the right stick, but my confusion is when u pull back on the right stick i imagined both elevators being pulled up to make the plane climb but with what im working with when pulling the right stick back only one servo moves so im not sure if im suppose to make both flaps work together an at different times with it being an intuitive feel on the controller, i can do it right not but it takes me pushing the right stick up an to the right to get both sides to do the same thing. i hope im explaining this in a way ppl understands. i know i got something wrong an ive not been able to find alot of info on building something from scratch, its always kits an they never really go through how to connect the servos to the receiver so they work correctly the transmitter
