Great video thanx.How would you connect those two switches to control 2 pumps for one tank .One pump to fill the tank and another pump to empty it . Only one switch does not give me enough travel to be use for 2 pumps and to utilise my water drum to its full capicity.

Thank you! I have a pump in the bottom of my well that fills a large storage tank, and a booster pump draws water from the storage tank and fills a pressure tank. I’d like to know if I could use one float switch for the two pumps. When it is in the high position, it would shut off the well pump but allow the booster pump to run. When it is in the low position, it shuts off the booster pump and turns on the well pump. Is this possible, or do I need two switches?

Its posible but for smooth operation two switches is better.

At time 6:29 Im trying to understand why you connected the common (black) to the other blue wire . Would it matter if i connected the common (black wire to common of the other side or not?

Yes, it matters....... a float switch has 3 wire BLUE which opens to common and RED closed to common if held in the downside position. the reverse is also true...... Now about connecting common to blue. You see am connecting 2 float switches in series and at the end, you must have a common......so I connected Blue and Black so that I remain with black(common) and Blown....op that helps.

The rating of a contactor depend on size (power) of the motor or pump,40amps is suitable for most small pumps because are rated at 7.5kw.
