I'd like to see how the floating plastic works out for a frog, as in will it still be buoyant enough to stay afloat with a hook in it when you stop it on the surface? There are definitely some opportunities to get creative using the floating and sinking versions for various applications.
@WorldsWorstFishing
@WorldsWorstFishing 5 жыл бұрын
Not sure it would float a frog rigged on a hook by itself... probably need the floating additives for that.
@kennycantin3872
@kennycantin3872 5 жыл бұрын
I have some of the Elaztech frogs from Z-man and that particular material does float at rest (whether or not they have an additive helping it?) and that can be a game changer where you can stop a frog over openings in the grass, or just in a case where you missed a fish that just struck. Even if the Dead On is buoyant enough for momentary pauses that could be very effective. I do think that using the floating version can be really good for Carolina rigging applications. Something I really do not fish often enough. BTW, thanks for another great video. I'm not pouring my own baits yet, but I have learned a bunch from watching your channel and always look forward to new videos from you.
@WorldsWorstFishing
@WorldsWorstFishing 5 жыл бұрын
@@kennycantin3872 yeah the elaztech material is not a Plastisol made from PVC..it's a different compound all together which float very well. And yes even a short pause that remains bouyant would be great.
@kennycantin3872
@kennycantin3872 5 жыл бұрын
@@WorldsWorstFishing right, and I agree with your comment from the live video a few nights ago, the elaztech is durable but definitely more difficult to rig. Especially if you're using a hook that has a screw lock. Bass are more likely to hit the blue crawl due to the natural display of the claws being in a defensive position when a Bass is looking at it. A craw will kick up dirt and sand on the bottom as a defensive measure against an attacking fish Keeping the claws above the dirt cloud plane will keep the fish interested, even after the defensive cloud has been stirred up.
