Travel in Twos agreed. colour grading A7sii dlog is a nightmare. Turned off the flat settings so next trip will look much better.

with D-log you really need to use LOG calibrated LUTS, or add a bit of a s-curve to the curves to get some contrast back. its still a better way to film, just a bit more frustrating and time consuming to grade, but the results are generally better :) cool vlog man, I enjoyed it!

Dang. You're smarter than me and my friend. We went to the orphanage/school and totally got scammed. Definitely soured the experience for us. It was our first time to Southeast Asia and we didn't know any different. Still an interesting experience though, and I'm not sure I would have changed anything. But people definitely need to be cautious.

Great video guys, especially the drone footage over the floating village. Living here in Shanghai currently means S.E Asian travel is pretty easy. Of all the countries my wife and I have visited Cambodia is the best. Angkor Wat was awesome and Koh Rong island last year was spectacular in it's peacefulness and gorgeous beaches. We stayed at the Sok San Beach resort on the opposite side of the island, so if you make it back to Cambodia in the future I'd highly recommend visiting there as well.

I did a service trip back last March and it was beautiful. It was my second time visiting and definitely the better one. We travelled past that village and to a river with another village and even built a floating house for a family. Cambodia is probably one of my favourite experiences with people and learning a culture for sure.

Great place to visit but actually you have another floating village 20 minutes more down the same main road where you have 10 times less people ( we were actually 2 boats when we got there) and therefore it does not feels like you are going on a "human safari" and it feels quite untouched. The bonus is the village where the "port" is.... Just a pure Cambodian place with houses built 10 meters high in case of flooding... we took the time to walk through and the people were super welcoming as they probably don't see many unfamiliar faces visiting.

The last time I saw a sunset like that was when a volcano had erupted and the ash dispersed for thousands of miles through the atmosphere. I was in north central Texas, and I think the volcano was somewhere in Asia. I hate pressure tactics when it comes to donating. I'm not against donating, I probably would have just mailed some money to the orphanage. But that's me. Great flight, beautiful sunset. Stay Lost.

Hey Christian, I'd love to see more of the stuff like the orphanage stop or similar things that may not be quite "picturesque" but more closely resemble the lived experiences and life conditions of the locals. Not saying you should necessarily put that stuff on your vlog, though! Maybe separate videos for just that kind of stuff if it ever comes up, if you ever feel comfortable doing it. I think it would be great if there were some way for you to setup/link to little donation things on those types of videos if at all possible, that go to for example the orphanage directly -- I think you'd really be able to inspire some people and help link them up to being able to easily donate a little bit to those types of things. Unfortunately there's probably not an easy way for those types of disadvantaged people/communities to setup fundraisers for themselves on the internet that you can link to, and it's certainly too much work for you to become a one-man multi-charity dispenserator lol, but eh. I know that I'd definitely donate to that orphanage/community if they had a website/page for it etc.

How do you have so much trust in that driver to not rob you or kill you for you money? This is, Cambodia. The most corrupted country in South East Asia. That said, do you think it's wise to travel around Cambodia alone as a foreigner? That drone alone costs over $1,000 here in Canada.

I've seen this before on some other channel i think (if it's the same village). The orphanage acually don't get any of the money. as soon as you leav they take back the rice and the shop you bouth the rice from and others take the money. Or something like that. But as I said. don't know if it's the same village and well...i did't factchecked the other vid that i saw ether. So maby some research is in order.

I have been to the floating village and the tour guides are very aggressive. Aggressive in a sense that if you refuge to go to the orphanage boated they are careless with boat handing which you are in. And later when u go in the goods price is so high there. Almost triple of the market. My group of friends who were there with a tuk tuk drive who we go with every year he said the only they gather goes back to the boat handlers/tour guide while the goods that you bought will be sent back to the boat for reselling. So it's just a cycle of income. I would suggest not to go to this floating village. Nothing there to see or do.

Great vlog but I am surprised you dont use local sim card and use Uber more often it so cheap in Asia instead of waiting for a taxi at Bangkok airport you could of left baggage claim and gone straight outside and took Uber from the same terminal and not waited so long for a taxi

Although you failed to mention that it's actually mostly ethnic Vietnamese residents being kept stateless by the Cambodian government, making it impossible for them to get education, employment or housing, making the floating villages their only refuge, and not just 'a money problem', I'm happy you did mention a bit of important info and not just 'look at how pretty'.. And good you didn't fall in the 'donation scam' :) Happy!

Basically what they do it bring you to a shop where you buy about $2 worth of rice/food, but you have to pay $50 for it, then you bring it to the orphanage, where they basically don't really care you're there. Most of the money stays in the pocket of the people who sell you the food. You can read loads of reviews about this on TripAdvisor or KZbin blogs about it. If you decide to go there, visit Kampong Khleang, which is the least focussed on tourists of the three floating villages. (I made a shot video about it on my channel)
