Super helpful video mate, just inspecting a knocking/crunching from the rear wheel, Think my hub bearings might be shot. This will certainly make the disasembly easier. Thank you 👍

Great video. Made it look easy. though i will make it harder for myself, as i would change, chain sprocket, brake pads, maybe chain and front sprocket and rear tyre..while its apart...lol

Great help - thanks for posting this step-by-step vid. I'm doing the same job on a '98 955 Daytona/S3, but I will be replacing all the bearings. What are you using for cleaning? (by the way, your method of keeping the spacers, washers, nuts and all in order with twine is brilliant. I'm nearly 70 - been doing this for a long time, but that's a new one and a really good idea). Thanks again!

Thankyou for your compliments, I was using Muc-off which is basically like a diesel cleaner! And then any old dishwasher tablet in the dishwasher 😂

question do i have to take off or loosin the left side nut b4 taking off the right side if I'm just taking the wheel off to install a new tyre? I'm on a 955i thanks great vid btw

lol I like how you simply pulled the axle out with one hand. The reality on some bikes that haven't been looked after is it needs a really really big hammer to do that.

Side note: (the centre caps) drive side is a bung with o rings, straight pull may require some leverage to get it started. Wheel side is on a screw thread, i use a strap wrench to start it off, then knock in to release the core from the axle, continue to unscrew by hand, reach around through the axle from the drive side for extra friction if required 😉

When putting it back together, do you grease inside the hub carrier ? Is this how the chain adjusts? Brilliant video by the way 👍🏻
@se114594 ай бұрын
I would like to know the answer to this also. I’m guessing once everything is clean and dry that if you can slide it back in fairly easily and turn it with the tool with no grease on then no grease is needed? Like with regular chain blocks. But what about water over time?

Awesome! Thank you! 1 question, how long did this process take?

I could do with now in about an hour! Now I know what to do! All depends on if you need new bearings and stuff!

A good general grease for packing and copper grease for the adjuster plate.
