@jeffdyrland27954 жыл бұрын
Exactly! FFDP are cover kings. Andy is leagues beyond that!
@Missunderstood2144 жыл бұрын
No, they chose him. When Jason had to have emergency surgery and left them without a guitarist in the middle of their last tour, Zoltan requested this man specifically. They didn't even consider anyone else. That's a good thing because it shows that they know exactly who he is and what he's capable of and the last thing that they'd want would be to waste his talent. If anything, it's much more likely that the rest of them will up their game to prove that they're worthy of having him.
@jeffdyrland27954 жыл бұрын
@@Missunderstood214 I was being facetious. Implying that I personally wished he wouldn’t have gone with them. His writing, to me, is beautiful and I would rather see “Andy James and the Crotch Rockets” or anything other than him playing for FFDP.
@Missunderstood2143 жыл бұрын
Jeff: He had his own band, Sacred Mother Tongue, but they didn't make it anywhere so they just broke up. And even his solo stuff just got him moderate attention within the guitar circle, but didn't exactly make him a household name (I've honestly never even heard of him until Death Punch picked him up), or anything. But then he got offered the chance of a lifetime by one the biggest bands in the world, who happen to be one of his favorite bands, so was he supposed to turn that down? I mean, I get the concern because, honestly, even though I've followed them for years and was only a fan of his for a few months, even I have to wonder if maybe they went a little too far out of their league with this one and I kind of worry that they're going to waste his talent (though I am quite impressed with "Broken World"). When someone expressed that concern to him on Instagram, though, he said that this is his dream gig and he feels lucky as fuck to have landed it so as long as he's happy, I'm happy for him.

Album IS A MONSTER. Wow. Love that rhythm, love that Satch harmonised tone, those intro chords for the solo are immense. And that sweep picking bit. And the chill section that didn't outstay it's welcome before leading into final chorus. These arrangements are perfect. Highly inspiring, thank you very much!

Hello Andy. Guess how I know your name. I recently decided to find the perfect guitar pick. I spent hundreds of euros to buy a lot of picks from well know brands to obscure underground ones. From cheap to very expensive and in many shapes and material, including horn, titanium, stone, etc. The best of the best of all those picks is the Andy James signature pick from Dunlop. To design such a perfect tool, while everyone else was trying for decades means a lot about you. I'll take the time to listen to your music.
