Difference in technique is noticeable in the breathing of the two athletes. hasam uses a lot of strength and consequently the breath is always panting. Nicky, on the other hand, fights very relaxed, controls his breathing a lot and came out in one piece.

That might be true but people can breathe heavy for a number of other reasons too. Haisam might have clogged sinuses, might have allergies, he might not be in shape right now, he might have had a couple hard rounds before this one, etc.

My armchair comment: Haisam is extremely explosive and quick, incredible length and maybe even ideal body for ju jitsu; but he lacks refinement and efficiency, relies on explosive movement and athleticism more than anything, but that would mean with a top level school his potential could be even higher than Nicky’s perhaps. Nicky is levels rn, idc what anyone says he’s absolutely evolving at a rapid pace in which he would ultimately be THE guy in the world in a year or two

Yeah, I wish he could be mentored by someone like Xande or Roger. I think his athleticism has gotten him so far that it’s masked technical flaws. Nicky mounting him and moving into such a high position so quickly is unacceptable for grappler of Rida’s pedigree (or at least it should be). He would benefit so much from being slowed down and forced to control opponents around his size.

I'm a bit surprised rod gave up his position wvn as a BB it's rare for guys at rod s level to train like this which tells me that he has now transitioned to training to become more technical as opposed to training just to be " tough".
