This was the FIRST performance of the show's season. Most of the other singers on the couches had never even heard of Floor, only heard that she was a "metal singer" so I think they expected she sreamed and growled all the time, and probably weren't expecting much...she blew them away here, and EVERY performance after of the season. Her duet with Henk was the LAST performance of the season (smart of the producers to have her go first and last for the season!), on the last episode which is the "duets" show. Each of the singers picks one of the others to do a duet with. Floor had idolized Henk since she was 12 years old and she went with her family to see the dutch production of The Phantom. When she heard he was doing this show she immediately signed up and was on a mission to do this song with him, as it had been a lifelong dream to do so. Henk said yes, but only if he could perform it with her when Nightwish came to do a show in Amsterdam...unfortunately COVID has delayed THAT performance,. but we are all still hopeful that it happens, and that it gets recorded!

Please stop spreading that - ... mostly false information. They'd never heard of Floor before the show but they spent months after signing and before filming began researching each other. Listening to the songs on their lists, choosing a song, adapting it, practising it with the band. Or do you honestly think that they all picked a song, adapted it, learned and practised it over a single day after the first episode was filmed? Days that they showed they did other activities like sightseeing, etc? So, yes, they'd heard Floor sing before filming. Just not before signing on.

@@fnglert Well, up to a point that is correct. Each singer was provided with a list of songs which they sorted through, found the ones they likes, then proceeded to adapt and practice. That list included songs that were meaningful, e.g. "Sound of Silence" so it's doubtful they had listened to very much of her repetoire. If I recall, only "Strong", "Decades in the Sun" and "Nemo" were covered from After Forever/Nightwish. That's just dipping a toe in the Floor Jansen water. We see the same thing in Sing Meinen Song where SDP put a lot of effort into "Amaranth" while Clueso obviously didn't bother much with listening to her catalogue. At least with SMS the singers had to select a song from her catalogue. None of this 'meaningful' business. Elif said before Floor had sung a note that she would "sing us to the wall" obviously a German expression that doesn't translate all that well. That indicated that at least some of them had done their homework. So while they had listened to a few recordings of Floor singing Nightwish songs, none of them had heard her do this. None of them were prepared for it and none of them had heard her sing live from just a few feet away. It blew them away.

This is a great TV Show, & brought her more the Netherlands public, & why during the pandemic she really went to starting up a solo side as well. She has now done several concerts using this excellent band there. Each week each performer does a song for the featured member that may mean something to them. This song Henke Porte said his mother sang to him as a boy. He is classical singer himself. If you want to a longer program featuring each show would be fun, all f them are good, but of course Floor.... well you know. Actually a very emotional show for everyone.

Up to this song in the dutch TV-show not many dutch citizens haven't heard about Floor Jansen... After the show every dutch guy knows her Name!. Therefore I recommend every Song from Floor. He TV-show 'Beste Zangers' (Best Singers) is not a competition. There are six different Singers from different Genres. Each one perform a song a song either from the Repertoire of one from the Others or one song, which one of the others prefere, in this case 'Vilja Lied' is for Henk Poort (the older guy in the audience). It is the first song ever in this Show when No one of them knows, who is Floor Jansen. Offside from Nightwish this Show ist the complete opposite Side of Floor. Check every Song from her in the 'Beste Zangers'"-show. Especially the duet with Henk Poort singing 'The Phantom Of The Opera'. You will enjoy every Song, also 'Shallow' (Lady Gaga/'A Star was born'). What do I say ... Check it !!! B.t.w.: Floor was also a member of a absolute similar Show in the german-TV, called 'Sing meinen song' from 2022. The show-caracter is the same as in the dutch TV. And in this German Show is a 'Floor Jansen-special' about her privacy, her Life before Nightwish and her living in Sweden. Very interesting.

Great Reaction! I'm so glad you used the video that shows them talking before Floor sings. It adds so much more to the video. AVROTOS never shows the talking and that is the ones that most people watch. One of the guys on the couch is half Dominican and half Dutch and had a hit song in Spanish called Que Se Siente and it was a Salsa song. Floor did a cover of it, but changed it and he was blown away. Remember, Floor does not speak German or Spanish.

Rolf Sanchez does a Reggeton version of "Hotel California" for Floor, and it is great. Henk did "Sound Of Silence' for her, and learned distortion for it and did it for her. Henk also does "Your Man" for Rubin (the young guy) that was fun to watch. Rubin did "La Donna è Mobile" for Henk and it was fun, as well at "They Dance Alone" for Floor. He is quite talented. Floor did his song "About Love I Don't Know A Thing" . . . Have tissues ready. Poor Rubin was a mess that show. Emma did "Sex Machine for Henk, and a brilliant "Strong" for Floor ... and again, have tissues ready. Samantha was on the Voice in the Netherlands and has a powerful voice. She did a Dutch version of Nightwish's "Decades In The Sun" for Floor. Tim has a good Rock/Pop voice and his "Breng hem thuis" (Dutch version of Les Misérables "Bring Him Home") was very good, and he did a fast speed version of "Nemo" for Floor. This was a very good season of the show. Everything Hank did and Floor did were must hear. The Henk and Floor "on the couch" shows were also great, and Rubin's very emotional, the others were just damned good. They opened with Floor for Henk (this song) and closed with Floor and Henk doing Phantom, and everything in between is worth a watch, if you can handle reading subs (or know Dutch). I watched to see Floor, and ended up watching the whole shows when Denise Hofs put up translations (Avrotros yanked them fast, but Floor had thanked her, as did the NW Army). Denise has since reuploaded Floor's show. Yeah, Floor is now quite popular in the Netherlands now.

I have just learned that Finland is the country with most metal bands compared to the population worldwide. If I remember well 905 bands (the number may have changed meanwhile). In Finland metal is like pop music in other countries. And a lot of Finns love Nightwish not only because of their music but also because they are such a great ambassador for Finland especially when they tour worldwide. For example in 2015 Nightwish had been the first Finnish band having a (sold-out) concert at Wembley Arena/London.

Her singing style varies from opera to screaming and grunting. This is Dutch TV show and these are all singers, who sing a song for the person sitting on the Couch. Personally, I always love to sing to an audience when I can see their eyes. I tend not to put myself into a performance situation unless I can sing confidently and hold my audience's gaze. It possibly explains why I have recurring dreams that I am on-stage, without a clue as to what I am meant to be doing!! Brought tears to my eyes this one guys...thank you

I think it might be what Floor is used to. She started After Forever when she was a teenager and the big thing in Europe is the Music Festivals and she's just used to performing at the bigger venues. Floor did a German TV Show like Beste Zangers and somebody made a medley video of Floors performances and she blew them away like she did here. Without question, Floor Jansen is at the top of Symphonic Metal singers. The only one I've heard who comes near to her is EPICA's Simone Simons and they are very close friends. Floor's first introduction to the whole World. And my I add, she set the bar very high! And the rest of them followed accordingly. Beste Zangers is a cool concept. You get these famous or upcoming singer's they all hangout and someone takes a turn on the hot seat while each of them sings them a song. Now this must take them some research but what they sing to them could be Their own song original, a cover song from a band they may love or even a song from a past memory as a child like this one for Henk. Well that is only correct for the duet episode. They had months at home, to practice the songs they chose to sing for the other contestants. Floor knew from the beginning she wanted to do the Phantom with Henk. So she asked the producers to ask him and Henk said yes. On the condition that they do this duet together with Nightwish. Back in 2019, than covid happened so this concert will take place now, November 2022...

@@enterthecronic Thanks I have just watched your reaction. Nice! Beste Zangers is a Dutch TV show and all singers taking part in it are Dutch. Henk Poort is a classically trained opera and musical singer and he was the original Phantom many years ago in the Dutch version of Phantom of the Opera. Henk was so good at it that the great Andrew Lloyd Webber himself named Henk as one of his favourite Phantoms.

Of all the Beste Zangers seasons the 2019 one is imho still the best. The chemistry between all the artists is so good. The guy with the beard is Tim Akkerman and he did the duet "Shallow" with Floor and again imho better than Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper! Tim's voice resembles much that of Bruce Springsteen's. He sang "Nemo" to Floor in a rock-style🤘And Floor sang "Shallow" on her own to Emma Heesters, the girl in the white T-shirt. Soo good!! Last week I stumbled quite by accident across 2 songs with Floor which I think is worthy to check out. I had not seen those before. 1.
