Floor, ik geniet iedere keer van dit geweldige lied, geschreven door Tim Akkerman. Wat een geweldige song heb samen met de mannen achter je ervan gemaakt. Steeds raakt de tekst en melodie mij. Ook deze versie weer, ook al lees ik hier en daar dat je jezelf niet goed kon horen? Wel, als dat zo is , wees gerust kritischer naar de geluidsmensen. je bent wel van hun afhankelijk...Trek je niks aan van de soms koele stijven Nederlanders die hun handen niet omhoog durven te steken. Als we jou (en vele anderen) gaan zien in Ahoy, is er tenminste een die bij dit lied zijn handen omhoog steekt. YES, I raise my hands for Floor en alles wat nodig is om te overwinnen!

Something went wrong with the mix I think. Floor looked like she didn’t hear herself good enough, you can hear this at a few moments in the song, and here part was not loud enough in the chorus. But very good job Floor!!

Totally agree - the problem is the limiter/compressor on the main mix seems to have been set way too aggressively - its like you hear in heavy rock mixing where the snare shines in the verse then gets lost completely in the chorus to the guitars. Dynamics suffer and some other balances not to great either... its still a great performance though and love Floor's singing

Agreed, mainly during the chorus. She touched her earpiece a couple times so maybe it wasn't working properly, or maybe it was indeed the mix, or both. Regardless it was an excellent performance. 👌

In the chorus, as a result of more incoming sounds, everything is (probably automatically) compressed, so that the total of signals (drums, backing vocals, etc.) is more equalised. Perhaps the sound engineer could have made that a little less striking. I also understand the critical response of some. However, the fact that the backing vocals now also harmonise once in the total "vocal picture" is very nice. Very often the vocals of solo artists are far too loose from everything and it no longer colours. And although the backing vocals are well present for once: you always hear Floors sound through everything.

This is just a reminder of how on point the audio engineers on Beste Zangers are.

Jeff Bruno the difference is that the engineers of Beste Zangers have the benefit of being able to take time to mix the recording before this is broadcast. This performance was broadcast live and as such it is a bit of a compromise sound wise.

I noticed that as well. The sound was out of balance and she touches her ear piece quite a few times... For a singer when you can't hear the music you're singing over properly you just kinda have to go for it and hope for the best. That being said, her voice is still amazing. She's such an incredible talent. ❤️
