I saw them in concert 2 nights ago. They did this song on a stage in the middle of the audience. They sat with their backs to one another in a tight circle while singing AND clapping! I sat in the audience with my mouth open the whole time.

The older official video had a link to 'how to do' the body perc. Also a behind the scenes short showing poor Scott trying to coordinate which is hilarious. He is notorious for forgetting lyrics! One viewer commented on the original about how they all were concentrating sooo hard while singing and clapping, but Kevin just sat there as if it was just another day at work 🤣

I don’t consider myself a Pentaholic but they touch me so much. There are lots of amazing singers in the world but that 5 ones found each other and do amazing, impressive things together… and they are humble and let everyone shine. I really love them and I’d like you to watch and react the new videos, O Holy night and Kiss from a rose. Happy Holidays ❤

They also just dropped Pure Imagination/ Christmas Time is Here live in the VEVO studio.

I agree - it’s a pleasure when someone that really understands singing fundamentals reacts to their talents and techniques. Kiss from a Rose and Oh Holy Night are so great - please do them as soon as possible!

I hope you react to Pentatonix Pure Imagination/Christmas time is here that they just released, also Kiss from a rose will blow your socks off, the live vevo video specifically. They do stuff that they’ve never done before. I would love to see your analysis.

I'm not a big fan of the acappella style, but these kind of levels of performance always reach me, especially when it's made by Pentatonix.

They did this live for the first time during their concert tour last year, and I was fortunate enough to attend one of their dates in North Carolina. I remember watching a fancam of an earlier tour date where they had only done this on stage a few times at that point and thinking wow they look like they are really concentrating on the choreo. Luckily by the time they got to me they’d nailed it. 😂😂❤❤

Ive seen them 2Xs and yes they do all of their songs live ! And theyre Amazing live. .
@laurasmith252211 ай бұрын
Theres a behind the scene about how many Xs they had to practice this and messing up, doing all the clapping and snapping fingers, vefore they could do it perfectly. AND yes they acheived this gial so they do it LIVE .

Happy Holidays! Just coordinating the hand movements and trying to remember the lyrics and pitches of this song all at the same time always blows my mind! They generally use a "clap track" when they're performing this song in concert, because trying to mike everyone to pick up the claps/slaps would be a nightmare, especially in a concert scenario. But whether the clap sounds are live or not, the movements are done live, and of course the singing is live.

Yes, they do use a background track of the percussion. They did a concert this summer and the track started early, they tried it again and then just walked away when they couldn't get it in sync. Nothing was said they just moved on very professionally. I can't tell you which show it was this year (they did 4 tours of over 25 concerts or around 100 shows). Yes, I'd love a comparison of them early (they did win the: Sing Off). They continue to raise the bar as you did a review of O Holy Night., the only night they did it on the Christmas tour. Thanks for your insight into their singing. I continue to learn more about why I love them so much, they touch my heart.

I don’t know what it’s called, but I have no problem with them using a clap track. I bet it’s a nightmare to try and pick up the claps and snaps on their microphones in a consistent way. I enjoyed your reaction and your enthusiasm for Pentatonix very much, well done! Peace …
