Dear Florent, maybe at one time you will publish a book about your condensed knowledge of art/drawing etc albeit in a different manner compared to the zillion of books on painting which are already available. Something really unique

So glad to hear you have another course coming. I just bought your other classes and have watched all the videos. The idea that I don’t have to match each color to my reference photo, that color is relative to a painting, was mind exploding. I’m a beginning beginner and found your classes filled in a lot of holes 9n my understanding. I really understand the components of color so much better now.

Thank you for this wonderful tutorial. It is absolutely a great exercise to train one’s eyes to focus on shapes and proportions instead of being drawn to details. Thank you so much!

Florent, I can't thank you enough. Today I was able to do this exercise (i've chosen the old lady portrait from Caravaggio's Judith and Holofernes), following your great pieces of advice. I just can't believe how awesome was the outcome!! Thank u so much

When finished with the charcoal painting, what do you spray on to seal? Do you frame below glass? What is the name of the reference painting you used? You are a master. Thank you!
@FlorentFargesarts2 жыл бұрын
Hi Juanita, I do two light coats of spray fixative and then (ideally) put it behind glass or in a protective portfolio.

Florent, have you tried the same “erasing” technique with dark oils colors instead of charcoal? I’m wondering if one could get a decent claroscuro painting in that manner. Thank you for this great video.
@omnesilere2 жыл бұрын
I have, you can even still use a kneaded eraser but you'll probably want to start with a rag or paper towel.

It's always good to draw but I think the more useful exercise is to directly paint after the masters in oil.
