I love the sound of the turbofan-powered DC-8 at 11:15.

Nice catch with that Ilyushin. The reverse thrust before touchdown was rad!

Excellent video! What a difference 25 years has made in changes to commercial aircraft fleets! I appreciate the inclusion of the locomotive. At least I was checked out and licensed to pilot one of those.

That Areoflot at 2:05 deployed the reversers too soon!

The reverser logic of the 737 allows reverser use within 10 ft above ground , however most airlines prohibit it. It used to be fairly common, in fact some early transports (DC8?] could reverse in flight to help increase descent rates.

Fantastic ! Love those old no-brand dc8s...a lot of old classics and carriers that have been disolved or merged into others. THanks for sharing!

Apologies for the double comment, but I hadn't watched the whole video. This is one of the best I've seen on KZbin. Bravo.

The IL-62 and the IL-62M in particular has a range of 10,300 km compared with the 707-200’s 9,400 km range. Malev, CSA, Cubana, Aeroflot, Air India, TAA, were some of the operators even JAL , KLM, and Air France wet leased a few. Aeroflot operated a hub at Shannon Ireland for continuing flights from Moscow to New York.or any American cities on the east coast. For west coast cities Anchorage was a hub for flights.

Normal for certain Russian. Never happen on a Boeing, MD, or Airbus.
