Those were great days. If you played your cards right you could take the CO DC10, 9 pm flight DEN to LAX, returning to DEN on the 4:30 pm, UA 747. I flew the route a great deal, on widebodies making the trip very nice.

Awesome stuff. I used to fly out of FXE and OPF back around this time. Brings back fond memories. Favorite shot has to be 01:04. You can just make out the old Paradise Island Airways Dash-7 beyond the 7-5.

Can someone explain to me what that little cutting sound at 0:03 ? I have heard it in many other plane spotting videos filmed around this time and have wondered what it is.

That chirp you're hearing is a strange conflict that happened with old air-band scanners, as well as VHS video cameras. It's caused by the rotating radar dish at the airport...when it faces directly at you, the noise occurs.

Yep that was EL-AL They removed the name EL-AL on the a/c cause they got too many Bomb threats every time they landed in KMIA... There was a special pressure chamber Explosion proof bunk house built just behind the mid field blast Fence just for EL-AL & Isreali Airlines to check out going cargo for bombs before it was loaded aboard the Cargo and Pax Birds. Fond Memories indeed. Worked @ KMIA as a A/C Tech. For 25 years. I worked on ALOT of the A/C in this Vid.
