Sometimes "How can I help?" adds pressure to them to know a solution. I've recent started asking if they need space, to talk about it, or a distraction. And if they want to talk, if they are feeling it or looking for solutions.

I took multiple tests recently to confirm i was autistic in addition to having ADHD. The cool part for me was having an answer to the question "why am i like this?"

I spent so many years kicking myself about the laundry not getting taken out of bags and folded and/or hung up that I finally said fuck it. I bought a bunch of totes of different sizes and a bunch of plastic shelves and put labels on the totes. I come home and sort the laundry from the bags into the totes. I do not fold them and then I put lids on them and my room looks organized. It only took me 39 years to stop beating myself up and work with my ADHD instead of against it.
