Had a 2006 341 Meridian with Cummins Diesels. Made the trip through the locks and to the west coast many times on vacation with friends. Stayed at Roland and Martins each time. Fun place. Went to Dry Tortugas and spent the night also on one of the trips. An amazing place. Was a good boat except couldn’t keep the thrusters operating . The 9KW Onan had 2400 hours on when we sold the boat. That kept us cool and comfortable. Happy boating

Love your videos as always! Your series taking the boat to FL was so inspiring! I've got young kids, so hours on a boat can get a little boring for them. A compromise is buying a leopard 464 pc through the Moorings yacht charter program. We're under contract and should close next month! Wouldn't have pulled the trigger without the inspiration from your videos

Am so glad your channel popped up on my KZbin feed. We live in Cape Coral but don’t have a boat. However, it’s so much fun to see what local boaters do here and where they go. This is the first heard of the mini loop. This is very cool. Can’t wait to see the rest of your trip. 👍🌴

Middle of Florida can get a little brutal in the summer.im sure your enjoying the AC in that Salon. The deeper you get-you may start hearing that “Deliverance” banjo music in the distance-LOL Just smile and wave and bust out a couple of”Y-ALLS” and it’ll be just fine.Hope the critters don’t invade you anymore

Very informative and well-thought out video with your spreadsheet info...I feel like I'm right there with you. I like the idea of spending the night docked with the AC plugged in and watching TV, cooking on the grill and having coffee with the Keurig in the morning. At some point, I would like to do that crossing but not sure how our boat would do. Your yacht seems so much more spacious! Congrats on all of the subscribers...You earned them.

We’re finding we haven’t stopped at one restaurant yet. Call us cheap or lazy. Or maybe just fat. We have so much food on the boat.
@mobilematays49247 ай бұрын
Beware of the horseflies at the Moorehaven lock we got inundated with them and they bite. Also, the city dock at Moorehaven is nice for an easy pull in pull out but don’t get there too early because there is absolutely nothing to do in that town you’re gonna be on your boat hanging at the dock I just came through there a few weeks ago. It’s almost worth continuing onto Rowan Martin’s resort.
@AdventuresofHappyOurs7 ай бұрын
Moore Haven was perfect. Quiet and free electric! Next time we’ll do Roland Martin.
@mobilematays49247 ай бұрын
My wife and I walked nearly 2 1/2 miles throughout that town and there was nothing to be had as far as a restaurants we got to the Dollar General store and ended up eating snacks. There used to be a barbecue restaurant only about four blocks from the docks that would’ve been nice, but it closed down, it is definitely in the middle of nowhere.

I was thinking a leak blower or hair dryer. Lol. Brigitt is wearing a pfd. It’s the fanny pack inflatable type.

@@AdventuresofHappyOurs Very cool. I saw the pack but thought it was maybe makeup or Matey treats. Show it off to us if you get a chance. We had the PFD vests that auto inflate. So nice and easy to move around in. Stay safe.

Great Series so far Captain. Quick question regarding power, are you running your generator the whole time, inverter? I have a 2009 391 Meridian and am looking to make same trip next year 2025. Florida heat and sun can be brutal.
@AdventuresofHappyOurs7 ай бұрын
We only run the generator when needed. Usually at night. About 12 hours for the AC when sleeping and making dinner and breakfast. During day we bear the heat and enjoy it. Swim, etc.

I just came across your channel. Cool videos! How long have you owned this vessel? Did you ever have it at MM Venice? Name and logo seems familiar. I went across Fl when I purchased our house boat in Ga. Brought it down ICW east coast then across the state now floats on mooring ball at Laishley Marina PGI. Was a 9 day trip getting it here.

Had her since 2019. Brought her down from NY on a 5 week trip to Cape Coral. Got all that on videos too. We never were at MM but took her to Venice last year for the 4th at Snake Island (more videos lol)

Is that noise the air flow from the AC?
@AdventuresofHappyOurs7 ай бұрын
Likely it’s the boat pushing through water or wind. Don’t run gen or AC during day.

Gee. I didn't realize it would take your boat 7 hours to go from Franklin Locks to Moore Heaven. Its kind of like going down a wide ditch? The natural flow of the river had lots of turns in it. Like you noticed the water ways coming off the sides. The turns in the river would have been nature's way of slowing the flow and to filter the water. Man straightened to make the trip faster and more convenient. Man can hurt the environment. I helped someone move their sailboat across the same way. We went lots slower with a sailboat. We moved the sailboat to Palm Beach Gardens. The big boats on the water ways on the East Coast are very inconsiderate when it comes to wakes. Look out. Enjoy. It's great you have air-conditioning.
