Extremely helpful! Couldn't have done it without your awesome video. Avoided your broken removal challenge by turning the unbolted old sensor 180°. The back of the sensor has a more centered pry spot to force it straight up.

Glad we could help. Jeeps are great but they do take work to keep them going. We are kind of hard on them so there will always be something that needs to be fixed....

Loved your camshaft position sensor replacement video. I have a 2010 Jeep Wrangler Sport 3.8 that goes into “limp” mode. The red lightning bolt symbol comes on on the dash and the vehicle goes into “limp” mode. I’d I shut the vehicle off and immediately restart it, the warning light stays off for a few minutes and the vehicle goes out of “limp” mode. After a few minutes, the warning light comes back on and the cycle repeats. I replaced the camshaft position sensor but it didn’t fix the issue. Any suggestions on what to do next?

Do you know if the 08 jk 3.8 has 2 sensors?
@FloridaJeepRides2 жыл бұрын
Not too sure, Ill ask around.

Yes it does. Both censors can cause your Jeep to stall and hard-long start. They are called Camshaft position sensor the other is Crankcase Position sensor. The one that Matt is showing here, the other is on the bell housing under the Jeep on the passenger side. SU10456 SU13456 Mine is also a 2008 and these are AutoZone part numbers.

Hello sir, how are you? I have a problem. The P0344 sensor has been changed, but during the examination it appears again that this is possible

On several of the components I've had similar issues I had to replace the EGR twice so far. Also the crankshaft sensor and camshaft sensor. But then again I bought cheap parts and then learning that if you do it cheap you probably have to do it twice. But so far It's OK

As explained. Even the complications with the plastic catch to the engine. The whole thing came out intact. Lubbed the area first. Thanks for the tips.

Any idea how im getting coolant inside the plug between the sensor and the connector on the look? would this cause a code to be displayed? ive toying with the sensor all weekend after replacing it with an oem sensor, so far ive driven it around 20 miles and the code hasnt popped up

If the soot builds up it throws a error code. Currently I have not driven the Jeep much over the last two years. Its doing a turn over but not start thing unless you let it cool down again.

Does your jk keep going into limp mode every once in a while? I sound like you. I have changed so many components on this vehicle. It usually fixes the limp mode problem for a little while.... then something else goes wrong and it goes back into limp mode.... I have even rewired it. Lol. Can't figure out why it keeps going into limp mode. If anyone else has had this problem please help. God bless.
@FloridaJeepRides2 жыл бұрын
Yes it does, I am taking it up to Jeepersden this Friday so it will be ready for Jeepin with Judd. I hope for the best. It could be something small and that would be great. Worst case is a very small head gasket leak or injector failure. Something is causing it to foul out components. I'll give a heads up when I find out.

Contact me. My limp mode issue was resolved by reshaping a female connector on one of the plugs going into the main PCU.

My JK is starting to be hard to start doesn't throw code. Has 170 k on engine. Then starts runs fine. Could this be issue.

Most of the time this sensor kills the fire. It turns over but never starts. I usually keep an extra just incase. I just replaced it again on Saturday. I miss the old days where if it had fuel and fire you could at least get it to start. Next up is a new code reader that can offer better reads.

Okay these things are easy to work on. Not like a 5.7 liter GMC 99 Sierra where you can sit in the engine compartment but okay. I cannot figure out heater deal once freezing left side doesn't work. Sensors don't like cold.

I had this sensor replaced about a year ago. Today it’s has the same symptoms as last year. It starts, but runs really rough then dies. Started it up again and runs really rough. So I did checked to see what code it’s throwing. Comes up as camshaft sensor again. It takes about 15 minutes
