I had a water flosser as a teen. That thing was big. I used to get cavities regularly. Dentist suggested it may be because I had deep teeth grooves. Not sure how accurate that was but I got a water flosser as a Christmas gift one year. Teeth always felt super clean. lol

Thanks for this tip Doctor. I have a last bit of gum left on my wisdom tooth. Water flossers helps me to clean any food particles stuck there. One question - Can we use water flosser once everyday?
@TeethTalkwithDrLisa3 жыл бұрын
Yea that’s a great area to use it. You can use it as much as you need it. Just as long as your gums are not irritated by it. Hope that helps!
I would use water flossing more than regular flossing. Regular flossing is time consuming and hard to use on wisdom teeth.

I’ve been looking into water floss for ages now as I absolutely hate flossing. Whenever I floss, the string always gets stuck between the teeth and it really really hurts. I often cannot reach the back teeth as well and I end up spending a very very long time just trying to floss. However, my parents think water flossing products are usless and a waste of money, so even if I purchase one with my own money I would still get scolded. I still plan on getting one soon though, I really really need to floss without feeling like my teeth are being pulled out every time
@almostfamous16853 жыл бұрын
I’ll second that I’m really bad at flossing too borderline clueless we’ll that’s how it feels. My teeth feel like they’re so close together I also have the same problem as you with it getting stuck. Ordered a water pick of Amazon should be here tomorrow. My dentist recommended me to get one after a long telling off about how bad I am at flossing 😂😂😂 if your anything like me get a water flosser because I couldn’t do a worse job with normal floss if I tried 😂😂
@Foxtrotwilconiner19693 жыл бұрын
I find flossing picks very helpful half inch of floss on stick easy to put in the back and control the action.I use a water pick but one or twice a week I smell the floss to see if I have a area that needs attention.I swear by keep certain bacteria out of that area increases your health .Teeth are a good sign of genetic superiority.Teeth are a mirror of good genetics and good health .

As brushing too hard is harmful to your teeth, can water flossers exert too much pressure to the point where they harm the gums?
@TeethTalkwithDrLisa3 жыл бұрын
Great question. There is not research to show this yet. You are only apply comfortable water pressure to your gums. This water pressure is very different than the mechanical pressure of bristles from your hand. When brushing with your hand, it’s best to not grip the whole handle with your hand. Instead hold the brush with your thumb, index, and middle finger for a gentle brushing pressure. Because brushing too hard really doesn’t so much damage to your teeth in time! Hope that helps!

@@aizel_punnuse baby teeth do eventually fall out….but baby molars are present all the way up to about 12 years old. So if she is only 3 year old with cavities….there will be a big infection if you wait and she will be in a lot of pain. So it would be better to take care of it while it’s small. My doctors says that my wisdom teeth is growing in at an angle that is damaging my molers. Causing me to get cavities between my molers and wisdom teeth. Its so far down that i dont hink regular flossing is working. Would water flossing be helpful in this case or still not?
@ninjrar2 жыл бұрын
I had my wisdom tooth grow in sideways and caused a cavity in the molar as well. had to get the wisdom tooth removed, cut the infected part of the tooth, and have it filled. Once the decay starts it will only get worse if you don't get it professionally treated. The longer you leave it the more it will cost you ( tooth extraction, health, and money). Based on my experience flossing doesn't help because it only cleans the surface and between your teeth but won't heal a decaying tooth. Hopefully that helps

In long run, which one is better for teeth regular floss or Water Flosser? Water Flosser can erode enamel of teeth or expose gum of infection in long period of time?
@racheld39283 жыл бұрын
I'm torn, while for the most part flossing works well for me the under/back wires behind my front top/bottom teeth from braces make it very difficult to use floss for those spaces so I usually skip those. Also, what do you think of dHAP? Is it as good as fluoride?
@TeethTalkwithDrLisa3 жыл бұрын
Yes the retainer wires make it almost impossible to floss...so a water flosser would help in those areas. Do you mean nHAp (nano-hydroxyapatite)? I do believe it to be is as effective as fluoride as clinic studies show. I use both.
