It won't hurt the blade. It is sharp and you don't have to push down hard.

I've been working on Robin Redbreast while watching, and I saw the finish that Helen D did with hers. She has a wooden square frame with a circular cut out for it. I have the frame on hand from a trip to a new cross stitch store that had it last summer. I like Little Dove Designs a lot.

Great Christmas gifts!!! I also diamond paint and have one of those big black folios to put finished diamond paintings in. I have a piece of foam core board in there for stability and the bag lives under the bed in the spare bedroom. And by the way, does your Santa have a brother who’s single? lol

When I first saw the pattern from the cross stitch magazine of the round love design which was finished on a board from hobby lobby I though the piece was a deviled egg plate. I think if you found a plastic one, you could paint it and it would work just fine. Just a though!!!
