Cheers Phil ... love fishing the surf for flounder and Bass. I haven’t been able to get out for a while so I really enjoyed sitting back with a mug of coffee listening to the surf with you and watching you catch a few flounder ... thanks mate take care 👍🎣🎣

Stephen, No problem, we are really lucky having these huge expanses of deserted beaches up here. A couple of other folks have noted how Bassy that surf looks. That's going to be another challenge (I've a mark to try for those). Cheers Phil.

Thanks Mate, I did wonder if I’d catch any.

That was an epic day on the flounders Phil. I sometimes angle my rods parallel to the sea so bites are easier to see and with the rod butt pointing in wind direction it cuts down the line belly.

I’ll try doing that, good tip. I was out this evening and the last of storm Ashley was blowing the rod and line around.

Thanks 👍 I was well happy to find the fish on the second half of that video. Have had a few tough sessions this year. 🫣

Well done on some nice flounder there . thought there might have been a bass or trout kicking around in those rollers. Tight lines.

Hi Mike, they are certainly about on this coast. We had a cracking session fishing off the boat near Peterhead power station and small Sea Trout were abundant. Bass have been had there too but not the day I fished it. Phil.

Great video in a stunning location Phil, more like this please! Im very familiar with the area around Ellon although not visited since pre Covid. Have a soft spot for the estuary inland of Newburgh road bridge.

Hi Andy, thanks for the comments. A year or two ago I launched the Kayak from Port Erroll and fished Cruden Bay. Not been there for a while. All good places to fish or just chill out. Phil.

What a neat and tidy channel, I have subscribed, I live in the NE of Scotland and although I have just moved here I am planning to get out and do some fishing. In the past many years ago I lived there, fished Bervie and Montrsoe, so tight lines and well done, I really enjoyed this video.

Thanks @oldbones4941. Welcome aboard to this varied channel. The Flounder sessions (I nearly called the video Floundering!) were all North of Aberdeen. Tight lines in your own fishing, stay safe. Phil.

First half if video was at Scotstown👍. Good luck mate, you could get a Turbot up there. Look out for crazy dogs 😂😂😂😂

Try fish baits on one hook, always a chance of a Turbot up there.

Hi Phil, Just found you on you tube, just a wee mon, not only you but very few give info of how to get onto the beaches and where to park car because (north east Aberdeenshire is big), Please don’t take this as a negative, but if you would give a bit of info I’m sure it would be much appreciated, (just a thought) I’m not a film producer but a subscriber, and look forward to you videos in 2024, keep up the good work.

Hi Brian, welcome to the channel. In this video the most productive beach was Balmedie just north of Aberdeen. Follow signs for the beach car park and then walk down the path / boardwalk to the beach. Most of the families stay close to the end of the board walk but if you walk a little way along the beach you'll have plenty of space to yourself. Rag worm seemed to work well and as I think I illustrated in the video the circle hooks resulted in no deep hooked fish. Hope this snippet of info helps. Phil.
