Hey Ross. Can you explain why you delay a few seconds before you set the hook? Thanks and keep up the great work!
@redfishross5 жыл бұрын
R.A. Escobar Hey R.A. , Flounder are Fast to grab a bait but slow to take it all the way into their mouths. So give them a little time after the bite and you will have a better hook up rate.

What is the proper way to set the hook with artificial??? I’ve heard some people say wait five seconds, other times they say “as soon as he strikes”. So what is it????
@redfishross5 жыл бұрын
SouthTexasTrashman With everything but Flounder set as soon as you feel the hit. With Flounder it’s better to wait a little while.
@bpenaspena5 жыл бұрын
RedfishRoss like 5-10 seconds? Thanks for the response!

Just a general question out of curiosity here. Why do you prefer baitcast over spinning? Normally on the jetties I’ll throw spinning just because I can cast it further and have thicker braid on.
@redfishross5 жыл бұрын
Fishigan Milligan I just prefer bait casting gear because it’s what I grew up using. I do use spinning gear if I’m throwing lures that are very light.

Ross, I have just discovered your channel today and I am loving it! I’m a transplant from the Uvalde area (currently living in Portland), so I’m used to fishing the Frio and Nueces rivers and catching bass. I love you bass videos and as I am a little out of place here in Corpus Christi. I haven’t caught anything here haha. But I’ll use some of your tips to see if I can change my luck. Question: In your bass videos, are you in the CC area? I’ve yet to find any freshwater spots around here.
@redfishross5 жыл бұрын
Matthew Torres Thanks Matthew , glad you like the channel . Most of my Bass video’s are from Lake Corpus Christi or my buddies pond In Aransas Pass and Ingleside. I don’t know of any places in Corpus to Bass fish but there may be some . Tight lines.
