i'd tried this kinda similar cake called "almond choc torte".. (flourless choc almond cake) and its turned out so GOOD! yums.. 😋

After cracking an egg containing a fully developed chicken fetus into a cake batter and having to throw it all away, i always crack the eggs in a separate bowl.

Can you replace the sugar with honey? My concern is the food science behind the two may not be compatible to get the proper result.

For every 1 cup of sugar, substitute 1/2 to 2/3 cup honey; taste your honey since different kinds/brands may be sweeter. For every 1 cup of honey, subtract 1/4 cup of other liquids from the recipe since honey is 20% water. For every 1 cup honey, add in 1/4 tsp of baking soda to counter honey's natural acidity. Reduce the temperature of the oven by 25°F and WATCH it; honey burns faster due to higher sugar content.

This dessert looked interesting so I made it. I baked it for 30 minutes and looked too jiggly so put it back in the oven for another 5 minutes. Let it cool in it’s pan for a good 3 hours. But when I tried slicing a piece, it was under cooked! I’m sure it would have needed a good 10 additional minutes...! Ressembled a kind of brownie cake, taste was good though!

I have never been successful in making a cake with an egg white meringue. I follow the instructions to a T and all my attempts always end up hard and gross. *sigh*

why'd you put so much salt into something that is supposed to be a desert? doesn't make sense at all, it's like unnecessary free sodium

She put kosher salt, its much more lighter than the regular salt. And the other reason is there is so much chocolate in this recipe, it can handle that salt...

Robert, see Chef John's video on differences between kosher, flaky, and table salt. Tablespoon etc are volume measure, grams etc are weight messages. So this 3/4 tablespoon might seem a lot of kosher salt, but in weight it's actually quite less (about 10 grams for this recipe)

@@robertofilho3371 Also, salt brings out the flavors of the other ingredients, especially the chocolate. Without it, the cake would taste flat.
