Thank you! Also, it looks like you asked about where I got the arch and I got it from Hayneedle, but you can easily find them on Overstock or Wayfair. I got it back in 2017 so I'm sure the price has gone up. XO

Question.. in doing a Sunday wedding , can I do all the greenery on Friday? What about the bouquets? Saturday is safe ? I’m also doing church pews with the pew holders Can they be done on Saturday? Or Friday is also ok? Thank you so much..love everything that I have seen on all your videos
@FlowerMoxie2 жыл бұрын
Hello Maria, yes, you can green everything out of Friday and make your bouquets as long as they are in water. Personally, I hold off on the bridal bouquet until the day before so the flowers have max time to open. You can do the pew holders on Friday, but you'll need to keep them in a cool location and re-wet them each day. I'd probably green them out on Friday and wait to add the blooms on Saturday.

Thank you for all your videos. I am doing the flowers for my brothers' wedding and you have been a lifesaver!! Are there any special instructions for peonies? Thanks!!!
@FlowerMoxie7 ай бұрын
Peonies don't require a ton of extra special care but here are some special tips! Give the stems a fresh cut, and place in cool water. Place the peonies in a sunny spot to encourage opening and remove any leaves below that are below the waterline. If the peonies start to open too quickly, then place in a clean fridge to extend vase-life and the peony will close back up!

Hello! So thankful for your channel! I have an event Sunday PM that I am trying to make flowers for. Is it ok to buy the flowers on Friday? Also where do you recommend storing at home? Is garage ok if the weather is cool?
@FlowerMoxie9 ай бұрын
We recommend getting the flowers 3 days before your event so you have 1 day for processing and then 2 days for design. Friday could also work to receive , but you'll want to make sure you're organized and ready to go with prepping and a design plan! We recommend keeping your flowers in a cool dark room that is away from bright sunny window and heating vents. A garage or basement will work well. If you're using a garage you just want to make sure that there's no chance of a freeze or for the temp to drop below 45 degrees.

This is so helpful. Thank you for sharing! I have a question tho, you don’t dip your flowers in water while prepping?
@FlowerMoxie6 ай бұрын
You can do that but it's not always necessary!

Do you normally wire your roses? And does the type of rose affect that?
@FlowerMoxie Жыл бұрын
It depends on what you're using the roses for! If you're attaching roses to a garland or swag, then wiring the roses would be an option but typically we try to leave the full stem so the rose is drinking water and staying hydrated the entire time. Removing the stem and wiring the rose removes a hydration source from the rose, so it's something that you would want to do the day before or the day of the event! Roses are pretty hardy and will hold up pretty well, but you don't want them to be out of water for extended periods of time or they will droop.

What snippers do you use
@FlowerMoxie Жыл бұрын
There are so many options when it comes to snips! For heavy stems like rose stems we like a spring handled kind which you can find on our Supply Store: diyflowersupply.com/collections/floral-supplies/products/floral-shears

I’ve been looking for advice on just these issues. Thank you so much for this video. I’m so glad to have come across this. I’m doing my best friends son wedding centerpieces. I did my daughters too but it’s not the same when you do it for someone else. Thank you so much.

Nice video. Thanks for sharing all the great tips to care for the flowers. Can you do the videos without the background music? It gets enoying and distracting to hear you over it.

I'll keep that in mind when editing in the future!

Cold warm, lukewarm water????
@FlowerMoxie3 ай бұрын
Lukewarm will help them open after giving them a fresh cut. The most important thing is to make sure the water is clean!
