Canned food typically lasts a lot longer than the"experation date". There are no federal standards regulating it. It's for consumers to feel safe eating products and to get people to buy more by throwing out "expired" food. Generally, if it's not leaking or swollen, its fine.

Some stuff does start tasting weird. Like cranberry sauce. It's so acidic most pathogenic bacteria can't live in it in the first place. BUT, it starts reacting with the lining of the can after a couple years and turns brownish-red and tastes bitter.

Going through some tough personal times recently and randomly have picked up gunpla as my alternative to therapy. I credit you with planting the seed quite a while ago, it's been very zen and centering but it's also hard to square with being a grown adult man playing with action figures. My son is only 2 so even though I'm still using him as an excuse, it's very flimsy.

about half a year ago we were dumping cans of food, giant cans in some cases... some of them from 2010 roughly. at my Grandfathers house. Had to start getting rid of the stuff that was... over a decade old past expiration date. ya :) Dude, I will be making major money as soon as I stop wasting time and hurry up with my animation training. or something dumb like my other plans paying off finally. I will buy you a can of soup that isnt past expiration date then. and in the mean time expect a fun lego set that won't look awful. in like a month.

15:40 Not sure, but this one could just have been in the shopping window exposed to sunlight. Judging by the rose-coloured label in the top right. Our comic shop has boxes in its window and sadly no UV-filter on that old glass front. Red fades first under long exposure and all that'll be left in the end will be the blue pigments. So if this was the case here, it might have been a red Bandai once upon a time, but bleached out from UV-exposure. Really only takes a few weeks in the window for the process to damage the package.
